Młodzi dorastają do demokracji. Nie sprzyja temu trend niedbalstwa i nieprawdy czasem także widoczny w szkole. Uczmy więc rozumnego przyjmowania poglądów, świadomego uczestnictwa i weryfikujmy przekłamania. Potrzebna jest aktywna polemika z manipulacją, co wymaga rzetelnej wiedzy od nauczycieli oraz tworzenia przestrzeni dla aktywności uczniów. Przydatne być mogą takie formy pracy, jak organizowanie spotkań ze świadkami historii, analiza prasy i jej systematyczne, krytyczne poznawanie, umożliwianie różnych form samokształcenia. „Konstytucja Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej”, „Ustawa o Radiofonii i Telewizji” oraz „Konwencja o Prawach Dziecka” nakładają obowiązek chronienia dorastających przed szkodliwymi treściami.

My report presents selected problems and trends presented at the congress in line with the motto “Recognition and respect for values – from deficits to positive attitude”. Lectures, workshops and discussion rounds focused on creativity, democracy and student use. Attention was also paid to the atmosphere of school work, the use and discovery of humour as source of energy, the feeling of also conducting conversations with parents. Many authors have relied on the basics in the field of eth-ics, the goal of improving interpersonal relations and respect for values.

Young people are growing up to democracy. The trend of carelessness und untruth, sometimes also visible at school, is not conductive to this. That is why it is necessary to teach wise adoption, conscious participa-tion and verification of distortions. An active polemic with manipulation is needed, which requires reliable knowledge from teachers and creating space for student’s activity. Such forms of work as organizing meetings with witnesses of history, cooperation with the press and its systematic, critical learning, enabling various forms of self-education may be useful. The Polish constitution, the broadcasting act, as well as the convention on the rights of the child impose an obligation to protect adolescents against harmful content.

Otto Friedrich Bollnow was born in Szczecin. He was an educational philosopher and representative of pedagogical science, in Poland it is not well known. On the basis of phenomenology, Bollnow analyzed impor-tant problems and educational concepts. In my article I analyze, accord-ing to Bollnow, the relationship between language and education, the dignity of words and the importance of practise in school work.
