The aim of the authoress is to present a report on her involvement in The Summer School for Young Adult Education Researchers, an academic project which has gained a stable position in the calendar of academic events. The report outlines the contents of the 9th edition of the Summer School organized in Zielona Góra which was abundant in significant academic events, including the presentation prepared by both experienced researchers as well as younger academics. Academic debates, lectures, simulations as well as a study visit in Berlin constituted the major points in the program of The School for Young Adult Education Researchers. This exceptional encounter of young researchers and professors, authorities in the field of adult education resulted in the publication entitled The Debate of Young Adult Education Researchers.

The authoress considers the role and importance of a family photo in the biographical studies, and presents educational influences related to the topic. She also shows the significance of the photo in constructing one's identity and fostering mature self-reflection. Moreover, the article reveals that the photos are not only sentimental mementoes, but also historically meaningful documents. The authoress describes her didactic experiences after teaching workshops on childhood memories, where family photos played a fundamental part. Among other goals, she also aimed to make the readers reflect on their own biographical documentation that the photos constitute.

The study is the result of qualitative academic research. The authoress attempts to present the contexts in which women undertake their academic careers and on the one hand tries to show the experience shared by all women involved in academic research, whereas on the other hand highlights what is unique and personal in their work. The academic career of women is presented in four different perspectives: in the context of cohesion and timing, obstacles, difficulties and doubts, everyday life and the elusive. The contexts presented make readers aware of how significant self-analysis and adding personal meaning to particular situations, experiences and events is.

The authoress has attempted to show the paths of women in scientific careers. These are multi-dimensional, interpenetrating structures, which show what is common in women's experiences. These paths are generally based on how women describe the development of the course of their professional life, in other words - of their participation in the academic sphere. As a result of the analysis of the collected research material, the authoress has identified the following paths of women's scientific careers: -Career by chance or happy coincidence, - Career as a continuation of the path of an intellectual, - Career as a substitute or compensation, - Career as a condition of realizing one's passion, - Scientific career built around didactic work, - Scientific career as a springboard or escape from everyday life. Women's experiences within the range of different paths can complement and penetrate each other, as well as reveal new, previously undiscovered relationships and dependencies. But most of all, they lead to further reflection on the determinants of women's scientific careers.

Pytania o tożsamość andragogiki wracają jak bumerang, są nieodłącznym elementem refleksji humanistycznej wielu teoretyków i badaczy. Nie bez znaczenia jednak jest przestrzeń podejmowanej refleksji i oczywiście osoby ją podejmujące, czego przykładem jest oddawany właśnie w Państwa ręce numer „Edukacji Dorosłych”. W tym miejscu szczególnej mocy nabierają słowa Ryszarda Koziołka, który w swym eseju „Humanista sygnalista” pisze: „Można to zrobić tak: wziąć kawałek literatury, skierować go w stronę niepokojącego fragmentu rzeczywistości i utworzyć między nimi połączenie alarmowe. Jeśli nam się powiedzie, w świadomości czytającego współobywatela rozlegnie się ostrzegawczy dźwięk rozpoznania, że oto nasza współczesność została przewidziana przez pisarza z przeszłości (Koziołek, 2019, s. 7)”. Poszukiwanie tropów i znaczeń w literaturze z zakresu szeroko rozumianej humanistyki, szacunek do tradycji, ale też umiejętność konfrontowania swej refleksji z współczesnością – tym właśnie w moim przekonaniu charakteryzują się teksty składające się na bieżący numer „Edukacji Dorosłych”, do którego lektury serdecznie Państwa zapraszam.

Autorka posługując się tropami odnalezionymi w literaturze o charakterze biograficznym, ale również w oparciu o zebrany materiały badawczy, na który składa się 75 pisemnych wypowiedzi studentek pedagogiki, podjęła próbę ukazania kolorytów kobiecej tożsamości. Nie chodzi tu jednak o stworzenie ujednoliconego obrazu czy portretu kobiety, lecz o odkrywanie różnorakich barw i metaforycznych odcieni, które składają się na ten obraz, z świadomością, że przecież każdy przeżywa siebie zupełnie inaczej, buduje inaczej, bo jest kimś innym. The author, using the traces found in the biographical literature, but also based on the collected research materials, which consist of 75 written statements of pedagogy students, attempted to show the colours of the female identity. However, this is not about creating a unified image or a woman’s portrait but about discovering the various colours and metaphorical shades that make up this image, with the knowledge that everyone experiences themselves differently, builds differently, because they are someone else.

Celem podjętych rozważań jest ukazanie macierzyństwa w odniesieniu do sytuacji granicznych, które opisane zostały przez Karla Jaspersa. Sytuacje graniczne związane są z codziennością, która jest wyjątkowo dotkliwa i bolesna. Zdaniem Jaspersa dotyczą dramatycznych uwarunkowań ludzkiego istnienia. W swych rozważaniach podjęłam próbę ukazania macierzyństwa w kontekście Jaspersowskich sytuacji granicznych, czyli sytuacji granicznej historycznej określoności, oraz wypływających z niej pozostałych sytuacji granicznych; walki i winy oraz cierpienia i śmierci.

The aim of the considerations is to show motherhood in relation to borderline situations, which were described by Karl Jaspers. Border situations are associated with everyday life, which is extremely painful and painful. According to Jaspers, they concern the dramatic conditions of human existence. In my reflections, I attempted to show motherhood in the context of Jasper’s borderline situations, i.e. the borderline situation of historical specificity, and the remaining boundary situations flowing from it; fight and guilt and suffering and death.

W artykule została podjęta refleksja nad rozumieniem oraz wielowymiarowością działalności człowieka, jaką jest poznanie naukowe. Została również podjęta próba ukazania uwarunkowań rozwoju naukowego człowieka oraz charakterystyki życia naukowego i pracy naukowej, co jest szczególnie ważne w obecnej zmiennej i pełnej wyzwań rzeczywistości. W podjętych rozważaniach miejsce swoje znalazła również problematyka związana z kobiecym uczestnictwem w nauce oraz uwarunkowaniami rozwoju naukowego uczonych kobiet.

The article reflects on the understanding and multidimensionality of human activity which is scientific cognition. An attempt was also made to show the determinants of human scientific development and the characteristics of scientific life and scientific work, which is especially important in the current changing and challenging reality. The undertaken considerations also found a place related to women's participation in science and the conditions for the scientific development of scholarly women.

W artykule została podjęła próba dookreślenia tzw. „nowej” starości, którą autorka nazywa metaforycznie „kolażowo-patchworkową” starością. W kontekście tych rozważań ukazana została rola i znaczenie uniwersytetu trzeciego wieku w realizacji potrzeb współczesnych seniorek i seniorów. Potrzeby te zostały ujęte w sposób wielowymiarowy, przez pryzmat trzech wyróżnionych przez Autorkę dyna- mik: poszukiwanie i poznanie, transformacja i transgresja oraz przemijanie i utrata. Ilustracją podjętych rozważań są zamieszczone w tekście refleksje słuchaczek i słuchaczy Uniwersytetu Trzeciego Wieku w Uniwersytecie Śląskim, w Katowicach.

The article attempts to define the so-called “new” old age, which the author metaphorically calls “collage and patchwork” old age. In the context of these considerations, the role and importance of the University of the Third Age in meeting the needs of modern seniors were shown. These needs have been captured in a multidimensional way, through the prism of three dynamics distinguished by the author: search and cognition, transformation and transgression, and passing and loss. The reflections of the University of the Third Age students at the University of Silesia in Katowice included in the text, are an illustration of the considerations undertaken.
