The article, in the first part, consists of a series of reflections on the luck of Gabriele D’Annunzio in Poland in the last years of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The second part contains a series of observations on some aspects of the Polish translation of the novel "Triumph of Death", or those of Aleksandra Callier (1898), Leopold Staff (1907) and Stanisław Kasprzysiak (1976).

L’articolo consiste, nella sua prima parte, in una serie di riflessioni riguardanti la fortuna di D’Annunzio in Polonia negli ultimi anni dell’Ottocento e all’inizio del Novecento. La seconda parte contiene invece una serie di osservazioni su alcuni aspetti delle traduzioni polacche del romanzo "Trionfo della morte", ossia quelle di Aleksandra Callier (1898), Leopold Staff (1907/1927) e Stanisław Kasprzysiak (1976). La versione di A. Callier, effetto di una lettura ingenua e superficiale, risulta quella decisamente meno riuscita. Le versioni di Staff e Kasprzysiak, oltre a essere distanti nel tempo e per questo stilisticamente molto diverse, nascono da due atteggiamenti contrastanti nei confronti del testo di partenza: di affinità nel caso di Staff e ironico-distaccato nel caso di Kasprzysiak.
