Increasingly better researched by psychologists, emotional intelligence is a valuable tool in human resource management. It encompasses familiarity with one's own emotions, which allows for self-reflection, the managing of emotions making possible quick coping with negative emotional states, the talent of self-motivation that facilitates the achievement of intended objectives, the identification of emotions in others, which makes possible the taking into account of the situation of other persons, and the supporting of relationships with others, guarantying high efficiency in interpersonal relations correlated with popularity and charisma. Thus, emotional intelligence has an enormous share in molding individual success, including in the professional field. Utilizing emotional intelligence in human resource management practice has great weight thanks to the fact that it can be studied and shaped. Possibilities for defining its level and structure as well as development through psychological training open new perspectives for practical application.
