The text concerns the place of social economy in local development and discusses the factors affecting the popularity of the social economy as an element of social exclusion policies. The emphasis in the analysis was put on the consequences of the welfare state transformation for the formation and objectives of the social economy and on changes in the concepts of local development. Text discusses also “antisystemic” approach to local development and its importance for understanding of the social economy institutions.

Tekst dotyczy miejsca ekonomii społecznej w rozwoju lokalnym i omawia czynniki kształtujące popularność ekonomii społecznej jako elementu polityki przeciwdziałania wyklucz­niu społecznemu. Nacisk w analizie położony został na konsekwencje transformacji państwa opiekuńczego dla ukształtowania się i celów ekonomii społecznej, oraz na zmiany w koncepcjach rozwoju lokalnego. Omówione zostały także alternatywne, „antysystemowe” podejścia do rozwoju lokalnego i ich znaczenie dla rozumienia zadań stawianych przed ekonomią społeczną.
