The article presents settlement relations in an entailed estate near Uniejów in the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. Geo-historical analysis covers the issue of settlement origins and transformations, including the morphology of the countryside. It attempts a reconstruction of the circumstances of the origin of donation on the basis of a ukase (an edict of the tsar) of 1836, and presents, from the spatial perspective, the development of selected social and economic aspects of the functioning of the entailed estate in question. Special attention is devoted to changes in rural settlement resulting from two massive agrarian reforms which caused the transformation of rural settlement systems.

Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań poświęconych morfogenezie i rozwojowi układu ruralistycznego wsi Wielenin w gminie Uniejów. Analiza geograficzno-historyczna objęła również próbę identyfikacji reliktów dawnych struktur przestrzennych osadnictwa we współczesnym krajobrazie kulturowym. Na potrzeby artykułu przeprowadzono kwerendę materiałów źródłowych, w tym historycznych zasobów kartograficznych, zgromadzonych w Archiwum Głównym Akt Dawnych w Warszawie oraz Archiwum Państwowym w Łodzi. W pierwszej części artykułu dokonano analizy morfologicznej wsi na tle dziejów osadnictwa w okresie średniowiecza i epoce nowożytnej. W kolejnej części przedstawiono rozwój układu ruralistycznego Wielenina od początku XIX w. do 1945 r. Finalna część artykułu obejmuje rozważania dotyczące współczesnej struktury przestrzennej wsi oraz stopnia zachowania pierwotnych form rozplanowania.

The article presents the results of research devoted to the morphogenesis and evolution of the rural structure of the village of Wielenin in Uniejów commune. The historical-geographical analysis also includes the identification of the relics of older spatial structures of settlement in the contemporary cultural landscape. For the purpose of this study, an examination was carried out of source materials, including historical cartographic materials, kept in the Central Archive of Old Documents in Warsaw and in the State Archive in Łódź. In the first part of the article a morphological analysis of the village is conducted against the background of the history of settlement in the Middle Ages and in modern times. The next part presents the development of the spatial structure of Wielenin from the beginning of the 19th century to 1945. The final part deals with the present layout of the village and the extent of preservation of the old spatial structure.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań nad procesem parcelacji majątków folwarcznych, zlokalizowanych w rejonie Uniejowa, w okresie międzywojennym. Szczegółowe analizy objęły trzy jednostki osadnicze położone w dawnej gminie Kościelnica: Orzeszków, Wielenin i Zieleń. W pierwszej części artykułu zobrazowano niektóre aspekty prawne procesów parcelacji, związane z implementacją reformy rolnej. W dalszej części opracowania, przedstawiono wyniki badań nad przebiegiem parcelacji wsi w gminie Kościelnica, z uwzględnieniem kwestii prawnych oraz przemian struktur przestrzennych osadnictwa.

The article presents the results of research on the process of parcelling out the land of big farms in Uniejów region in the interwar period. The analysis covered three settlement units in located in the former commune of Kościelnica: Orzeszków, Wielenin and Zieleń. The first part of the article explains some legal aspects of the parcellation process connected with the implementation of the land reform. The next part presents the results of research on the parcellation of villages in the commune of Kościelnica, including legal questions and changes in the spatial structures of settlement.

W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badań na temat przemian toponimicznych na obszarze współczesnej gminy miejsko-wiejskiej Szadek pod wpływem rozwoju osadnictwa, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem znaczenia różnych form zagospodarowania przestrzennego oraz wpływu czynników polityczno-administracyjnych. Podjęto kwestie genezy i zmienności nazewniczej jednostek osadniczych lub ich części w różnych okresach historycznych: od średniowiecza aż po czasy współczesne. W skali lokalnej pozwoliło to wykryć zróżnicowanie w zakresie typów toponomastycznych oraz szereg interesujących zależności i prawidłowości w kontekście przemian geograficzno- -historycznych osadnictwa na badanym obszarze.

The article presents the results of research on toponymic changes that took place within the area of the present urban-rural municipality of Szadek as a result of settlement development, with a particular focus on various forms of spatial development as well as political and administrative factors. The study addresses the question of the origin and changes in the names of settlement units or their parts in different historical periods: from the Middle Ages to modern times. At the local level, the research enabled identification of various toponomastic types and a number of interesting relationships and regularities in the context of geographical and historical transformations of settlement in this area.

Artykuł obejmuje próbę zbadania genezy oraz rozwoju sieci szkolnictwa podstawowego na obszarze gminy miejsko-wiejskiej Szadek w jej współczesnych granicach. Analizy objęły wybrane obiekty oświatowe utworzone w mieście Szadek i okolicznych wsiach. Wykorzystano w tym celu wybrane dokumenty, akta prawne a ponadto źródła prasowe i dane statystyczne. Na potrzeby artykułu dokonano periodyzacji dziejów szkolnictwa podstawowego na badanym obszarze. W pierwszej części autorzy przeanalizowali rozwój szkół w okresie przedrozbiorowym, a następnie przedstawili wyniki analogicznych studiów w odniesieniu do okresu rozbiorów oraz ostatniego stulecia (1918–2018).

The article examines the origin and development of primary education network in Szadek municipality in its present boundaries. The analysis covers chosen educational facilities in the town of Szadek and in the surrounding villages. The material used in the study includes selected documents, legal acts, press information and statistical data. For the purposes of the article, the history of primary education in the studied area was divided into periods. First, the pre-partition period was analysed, then the time of the Partitions, and finally the past century (1918–2018).

Szczegółowe analizy na podstawie przeprowadzonej kwerendy archiwalnej objęły dwie jednostki osadnicze położone na obszarze współczesnej gminy Szadek, tzn. wsie Boczki i Rzepiszew. W pierwszej części artykułu zaprezentowano wybrane aspekty prawno-administracyjne, związane z realizacją reform rolnych oraz strukturę przestrzenną majątków ziemskich istniejących w badanym okresie na terenie gminy. W dalszej części opracowania przedstawiono wyniki studiów nad przebiegiem parcelacji wsi i likwidacji serwitutów na wybranych przykładach, uwzględniając kwestie prawne analizowanych procesów oraz ich reperkusje w postaci przemian struktur osadniczych.

The article presents the results of research on the process of manor land parcelling and abolition of easement, which took place in the interwar period. A detailed analysis based on archival queries covers two settlement units located in the area of the contemporary Szadek commune: the villages of Boczki and Rzepiszew. The first part of the article presents the legal and administrative aspects related to the implementation of agricultural reforms and the problem of spatial structure of landed estates existing in the analyzed period in Szadek commune. The next part of the study presents the results of research on the origin and course of land parcelling and the abolition of easement on selected examples, taking into account the legal issues of the analyzed processes and their repercussions including changes in settlement structures.
