W artykule skoncentrowano się na przedstawieniu znaczenia współpracy polskich uczelni z otoczeniem w różnych dziedzinach nauki i techniki. Zasadniczym celem artykułu jest przedstawienie zgłoszeń patentowych dokonanych przez polskie uczelnie w Urzędzie Patentowym Rzeczpospolitej Polskiej (UPRP). Głównym zamiarem było pokazanie tego procesu jako jednej z metod transferu technologii. Polskie uniwersytety dokonują największej ilości zgłoszeń patentowych w dziedzinie nauk eksperymentalnych (chemia, fizyka, medycyna). Wniosek ten został oparty na analizie danych empirycznych zaczerpniętych z baz dostępnych na stronie UPRP – rejestru patentowego, bazy danych UPRP wynalazków i wzorów użytkowych oraz bazy danych stworzonej przez Europejski Urząd Patentowy „espacenet” oraz danych statystycznych publikowanych przez UPRP i EUP .

The article focuses on importance of the cooperation between Polish universities and environment in various areas of science and technology. The main aim of this work is to present the structure and dynamics of the number of patent application filed by Polish universities in the Polish Patent Office (UPRP). The main intention is to show this process as one of the methods of technology transfer. The biggest number of patent applications filed by Polish universities falls within the field of experimental sciences (chemistry, physics, medicine). This conclusion is based on the analysis of empirical data derived from databases available on the Polish Patent Office – patent register, database of inventions and utility models and database created by European Patent Office “espacenet” and statistics data published by UPRP and EPO.
