The founder of the Order of Franciscan Sisters Servants of the Cross and at the same time a co-founder of the “Laski Work”, who lived in the 20th century, may be considered a wise and sagacious educator. The spiritual notes she left (Notatki and Dyrektorium), written under the influence and at the request of her spiritual guide, reveal Czacka's extraordinary deliberateness. Conscious of human limitations that are a result and a consequence of the original sin, she emphasized the necessity of absolute trust to God, so that discovering His love one could accept anything that He reveals to the man with faith and hope, including the gift and grace of suffering. In the process of Christian formation she also ascribed an important role to prayer as well as to healthy, moderate asceticism. It seems that Czacka's reflections that also today topical, may be a help not only to consecrated people, but also to all those who undertake the work of constant, permanent spiritual formation.

In theology a sin is described as mysterium iniquitatis and absolution from it – mysterium salutis or pietatis. In the New Testament a sin is always connected with absolution, „forgiveness”, and sinners are of great concern for Jesus. Nevertheless, modern culture becomes more and more detached from Christian tradition and thus deprives a human being of the spiritual values and makes him become further impoverished. This article provides a synthetic discussion of the reality of a sin – “mystery of illicitness” and also reflects on repentance and reconciliation with God and with one's own neighbour. The reflections presented in this article are based on the teachings of the contemporary Church and on the Papal teachings especially.

W teologii grzech jest określany jako mysterium iniquitatis, a jego odpuszczenie – mysterium salutis lub pietatis. W Nowym Testamencie bowiem grzech łączy się zawsze z jego odpuszczeniem, „przebaczeniem”, a grzesznicy są przedmiotem wielkiej troski Jezusa. Tymczasem współczesna kultura, odchodząc od chrześcijańskiej tradycji, odziera człowieka z duchowych wartości, co prowadzi do jego zubożenia. Artykuł omawia syntetycznie rzeczywistość grzechu – „tajemnicy nieprawości”, a także ukazuje refleksje odnoszące się do faktu nawrócenia i pojednania z Bogiem oraz z bliźnimi. Refleksje te oparte są na nauczaniu współczesnego Kościoła, zwłaszcza na nauczaniu papieskim.

It was already in his Apostolic Letter that Pope John Paul II appealed to the faithful to discover the presence of the Holy Spirit both in the holy sacraments and through the various charismata, tasks and services to the faithful for the sake of the Church. This appeal was reminded about in the Letter of the Congregation for The Doctrine of the Faith Iuvenescit Ecclesia approved by Pope Francis. This article raises the issue of Christian prayer inspired by the Holy Spirit, its integrating role due to the power of the Holy Spirit and the relation between the prayer and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It should be noted that there is a growth in the awareness and recognition of multiple actions of the Holy Spirit in the Church and the charismatic gifts through which people of God can fulfil their mission. The Holy Spirit is the source of every gift that comes from God in the order of creation.

Już papież Jan Paweł II w Liście apostolskim Tertio millennio adveniente wzywał wiernych do odkrywania obecności Ducha Świętego zarówno w sakramentach świętych, jak i za pośrednictwem licznych charyzmatów, zadań i posług udzielonych wiernym dla dobra Kościoła. Zadanie takie przypomniał List Kongregacji Nauki Wiary, zaaprobowany przez papieża Franciszka Iuvenescit Ecclesia. Artykuł porusza zagadnienie modlitwy chrześcijańskiej wzbudzonej przez Ducha Świętego, jej rolę integrującą dzięki mocy Ducha Świętego, a także relację między modlitwą a darami Ducha Świętego. Należy zauważyć wzrost świadomości wielorakiego działania Ducha Świętego w Kościele i darów charyzmatycznych, dzięki którym Lud Boży może wypełniać swoje posłannictwo. Duch Święty jest bowiem źródłem wszelkiego obdarowania, które pochodzi od Boga w porządku stworzenia.

The article emphasises the effects and significance of the baptism of Mieszko I in 966 in the history of Poland. The arrival of Christianity opened Poland to the legacy of culture and theological thought of the Western world. In consequence, it resulted, not only, in the perception of the western spiritual and intellectual tradition, but triggered the development of Poland’s theological thought. Thus, Poland has its own notable contribution to the creation and distribution of that spiritual legacy for the sake of both the Church and Europe.

Artykuł uwydatnia skutki i znaczenie chrztu świętego Mieszka I w 966 r. w historii Polski. Przyjęcie chrześcijaństwa otworzyło Polskę na dziedzictwo kultury i myśli teologicznej świata Zachodu. W wyniku tego doszło nie tylko do percepcji zachodniej duchowości i intelektualnej tradycji, ale i ukierunkowania rozwoju polskiej myśli teologicznej. Dzięki temu Polska ma swój znaczący wkład w tworzenie duchowego dziedzictwa Kościoła i Europy i dzielenie się nim z innymi.
