Aim. This article, named Family conditions of linguistic development in the first years of a child’s life, is the result of my pedagogical, theoretical reflection. Analysis of gained theoretical material, which I present in this text, shows the association between a developing child’s communication system and awareness, parents’ pedagogical culture and theirs actions, which can stimulate that process. Method. Analysis of the subject literature. Results. The family is the basic educational environment of every child. Its socialization and educational impacts are particularly important in terms of developing language skills. Adequate parental stimulation and motivation is essential for a child to try to improve their language. Above all, however, parents/guardians are important patterns of linguistic behavior.

Cel. Artykuł jest wynikiem teoretycznej refleksji pedagogicznej. Analiza zgromadzonego materiału teoretycznego, który przedstawiam w niniejszym tekście, pokazuje związek między rozwojem językowym dziecka a świadomością, kulturą pedagogiczną rodziców i ich działaniami, które mogą ten proces stymulować. Metoda. Analiza literatury przedmiotu. Wyniki i wnioski. Rodzina jest podstawowym środowiskiem wychowawczym każdego dziecka. Jej oddziaływanie socjalizacyjno-wychowawcze jest szczególnie istotne w zakresie rozwinięcia sprawności językowej. Odpowiednia stymulacja i motywacja ze strony rodziców jest niezbędna do podejmowania prób doskonalenia języka przez dziecko. Przede wszystkim jednak mowa rodziców/opiekunów stanowi istotny wzorzec zachowań językowych.
