This paper presents a new proposal of relative chronology of the Linear Pottery Culture in Southeast Poland, which was established due to new materials discovered at the site Zwięczyca 3. It is in fact an enlargement of the relative chronology of LBK suggested in the 90s of the last century by S. Kadrow. Zwięczyca materials have allowed us to present pottery from the early, pre-Music Note phase, to the very late Želiezovce ŽIIb/III phase

The landscapes on both sides of the lower course of the Tyrawka River, a tributary of the San, cannot be regarded as favourable for settlement. Nevertheless, a dense concentration of archaeological sites has been recorded. A reason for this observation might be seen in the local deposits of salt and copper, exploitation of which would have compensated the environmental disadvantages.
