The paper presents the concept of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and the most important components of this system. Next, the main directions of diffusion of WCM in multiplant enterprises, with numerous links with suppliers, were presented. The author is of the opinion that direction of diffusion of WCM depends on the point in the value chain at which the implementation of WCM begins. An example of WCM implementation is the case of Fiat Auto Poland SA which was presented in the paper. The used research methods are studies of domestic and foreign literature, combined with reference to a practical example.

Rozwój technologii i automatyzacja procesów wytwarzania stawiają coraz wyższe wymagania odnośnie do utrzymania w sprawności posiadanych środków technicznych.

The development of technologies and the automation of manufacturing processes have led on the increasingly higher demands on maintenance. These changes have become the driving force behind progress in terms of maintenance, which resulted in the creation of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) − two most frequently mentioned solutions in the context of modern maintenance. The origins of the creation, the guidelines of conduct, the advantages and limitations of RCM are outlined in the paper. A comparison of RCM with TPM was also carried out. The necessity of a wider use of modern maintenance methods to improve the efficiency of enterprises’ operation is emphasized in the conclusion. The study also stresses that the level of complexity, the time horizon of actions taken and the importance mean the necessity of including maintenance at the level of strategic activities.

The aim of the paper is to present opportunities given by applying process modelling to cost standardisation in local administration units. The main reason for choosing this research problem is the lack of explicitness in calculating designated subsidy for governmental tasks in Lesser Poland Voivodeship in the last years. Based on the output of organisation and management sciences in the field of business process modelling and analysis, the authors presented an appropriate solution for the task “disability evaluation” realised by Kraków District. In the empirical part, the results of the case study of process modelling for cost standardisation were presented. At the end of the paper the authors formulated conclusions based on their research in Kraków District and gave directions for future application of their methodological proposal.
