The article concerns the issue of educating students of pedagogy specialising in rehabilitation. The author describes the nature of educating future rehabilitation educators in respect of legal regulations in the system of higher education. There follows a discussion on advantages and disadvantages of such solutions. There is also a description of research carried out among students and it further presents their opinions on the subject.

Challenges to prophylaxis in modern school

The article concerns the challenges for the teachers who are engaged in preventative actions in the contemporary school. The author takes the issues relating to the problems faced by teachers implementing school prophylaxis programs. This problem was taken up in the study because during interviews and work with teachers the author noted that they are struggling with problems in constructing and implementing school prevention programs. Not every teacher knows what the standards for prophylaxis interventions are and how they are designed to build programs. The research was conducted using the diagnostic survey method, survey technique, questionnaire survey tool. The research group counted a total of 111 subjects. The goal of theoretical and cognitive research was to diagnose the problems teachers face when designing and implementing a school prophylaxis program. The practical and implementation objective was to develop recommendations for schools and municipalities in support of teachers who implement the school prophylaxis program. Research shows that respondents have the support to implement prophylaxis impacts at school, these activities are rather monitored and evaluated, the climate is conducive to school prophylaxis, and the programs are based on scientific basis. However, according to the educators, there are insufficient funds for prophylaxis, and they are rather low in their competence. In addition, teachers with work experience up to 5 years worse than others evaluate some areas related to prophylaxis. In the end there are shown also areas in which teachers feel the need to improve their competence in the field of prophylaxis. At the end are presented conclusions and practical recommendations for use in educational institutions, which implement programs in the field of universal prophylaxis. Artykuł dotyczy części badań realizowanych wśród uczniów i studentów z pogranicza polsko-czeskiego (powiat prudnicki, nyski i opolski po polskiej stronie i kraj morawsko-czeski po stronie czeskiej) w ramach projektu z euroregionu Pradziad. Celem teoretycznym projektu było poznanie stylu i jakości życia mieszkańców pogranicza czesko-polskiego, ich planów życiowych i tożsamości, na obszarze działalności euroregionu Pradziad, a także wiedzy młodych mieszkańców pogranicza o życiu i problemach sąsiadów z zagranicy. Celem praktycznym projektu było uzmysłowienie roli jakości życia dla funkcjonowania społeczeństwa poprzez popularyzację zagadnienia (konferencja, publikacje) oraz możliwości wzbogacania wiedzy młodych mieszkańców. W artykule zaprezentowana jest tylko część badań, która dotyczy opinii respondentów na temat planów życiowych w kontekście pogranicza polsko-czeskiego. Analiza ta dotyczyła jednego z pytań szczegółowych badań: Jakie są plany życiowe uczniów i studentów z pogranicza polsko-czeskiego? Wyniki badań przedstawiają deklaracje związane z planami pozostania w ojczyźnie, postrzeganiem swojego miejsca zamieszkania czy też dostrzeżeniem różnych walorów własnych miejscowości i krajów. W analizie danych zastosowano metody statystyczne związane z testowaniem statystycznej istotności różnic między zmiennymi testem Chi-kwadrat (x2).

The article concerns a part of the research carried out among learners and university students from the Polish-Czech border area (Prudnik, Nysa and Opole counties on the Polish side and Moravian-Czech district on the Czech side) within the Pradziad Euroregion Project. The theoretical aim of the project was to get to know the lifestyle and quality of life of the inhabitants of the Czech-Polish border area, their life plans and identity, as regards the activities of the Pradziad Euroregion, as well as the knowledge of young borderland inhabitants about the life and problems of their neighbours from abroad. The practical aim of the project was to raise awareness of the role of quality of life for the functioning of the society by popularising the issue (conferences, publications) and the possibility of enriching the knowledge of these young inhabitants. This article presents only the part of the research that deals with respondents’ opinions on life plans in the context of the Polish-Czech borderland. The analysis was focused on one of the specific questions of the research: What are the life plans of pupils and university students from the Polish-Czech borderland? The research results refer to the declarations related to plans to stay in the homeland, perceptions of the respondents’ place of residence, or perceptions of the different qualities of their own towns and countries. In the data analysis, statistical methods related to testing the statistical significance of differences between variables with the Chi-square test (x2) were applied.

The article concerns research conducted among students and teachers of primary schools in Poland and the Czech Republic as part of a project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the State budget, “We Cross the Borders”. The project entitled “Key Competencies in Teaching and Education” was implemented under the recruitment of the Praděd Microprojects Fund, Priority axis number: 11.4, priority axis name: Cooperation of institutions and communities. Aim. The theoretical and cognitive aims of the research were to diagnose the competencies of teachers and students in the field of critical thinking. The objective of the research was to develop practical recommendations that could be used in the education programs of future teachers. Methods. The research used the method of a diagnostic survey; the questionnaire technique. Results. The results of the research showed differences between the behaviour of teachers and students in such matters as contacts with parents, following the headmaster’s instructions, using innovative teaching methods and self-confidence in everyday work-related situations.

The research results showed differences between the behaviour of teachers and principals in such matters as contact with parents, following the headmaster’s instructions, using innovative teaching methods and self-confidence in everyday work-related situations. The results show statistically significant differences in their declarations of behaviour in a particular situation. From the research, it can be concluded that principals are more interested than teachers in solving any difficult situation to resolve the conflict rather than focusing primarily on the consequences of the situation.

Badania przeprowadzono wśród 106 nauczycieli szkół podstawowych województwa opolskiego metodą sondażu diagnostycznego, techniką ankiety. Jako narzędzie wykorzystano oryginalny kwestionariusz.

Artykuł dotyczy zagadnień związanych z kompetencjami prewencyjnymi. We wstępie podjęto próbę zdefiniowania kompetencji profilaktycznych, a następnie przedstawiono założenia metodologiczne badań, wyniki i wnioski z badań. Celem teoretyczno-poznawczym prezentowanych badań była diagnoza kompetencji profilaktycznych studentów kierunków pedagogicznych w Polsce, Słowacji i Ukrainie. Celem praktyczno-wdrożeniowym było opracowanie praktycznych rekomendacji dla kształcenia nauczycieli profilaktyków w Polsce, w Słowacji i Ukrainie. Główny problem, na który poszukiwano odpowiedzi, zawierał się w pytaniu: Jakie są kompetencje studentów pedagogiki na kierunkach nauczycielskich? Problemy szczegółowe: 1. Jaką wiedzę mają studenci na temat działań profilaktycznych? 2. Jakie umiejętności w zakresie interwencji profilaktycznych posiadają studenci? 3. Jakie doświadczenie mają studenci w zakresie działań profilaktycznych? W badaniu wykorzystano metodę sondażu diagnostycznego – Kwestionariusz Kompetencji Profilaktycznych (PCQ), opracowany przez Sławomira Śliwę. Do analizy danych wykorzystano program statystyczny IBM SPSS Statistics 19. Grupę badawczą stanowiło 144 studentów z Polski (studenci Wyższej Szkoły Zarządzania i Administracji w Opolu) i 207 studentów ze Słowacji (studenci Uniwersytetu Preszowskiego w Preszowie) oraz 39 studentów z Ukrainy (studenci Państwowego Uniwersytetu Pedagogicznego w Berdiańsku). Wyniki badań pokazują, jaki poziom wiedzy i umiejętności w zakresie kompetencji profilaktycznych mają przyszli nauczyciele. W artykule wskazano obszary wiedzy i umiejętności, które zostały ocenione najniżej i najwyżej. Na koniec zamieszczono praktyczne wskazówki dotyczące kształcenia przyszłych nauczycieli profilaktyki.

The article deals with issues related to preventive competences. In the introduction, an attempt was made to define preventive competences, and then the methodological assumptions of the tests, The theoretical and cognitive goal of the presented research was to diagnose the preventive competences of teaching faculty students in Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine. The practical and implementation goal was to develop practical recommendations for educating preventive teachers in Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine. The main problem for which answers were sought was contained in the question: What are the competences of pedagogy students in teaching faculties? Specific problems: 1. What knowledge do students have about preventive measures? 2. What skills in preventive interventions do students have? 3. What experience do students have in the field of preventive measures? The research used the diagnostic survey method. The Preventive Competence Questionnaire (PCQ) was used, prepared by Sławomir Śliwa. Data analysis was developed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 19 statistical program. The research group consisted of 144 students from Poland (students of the Academy of Management and Administration in Opole) and 207 students from Slovakia (students of the University of Prešov in Prešov) and 39 students from Ukraine (students from the State Pedagogical University in Berdyansk). The research results show what level of knowledge and what level of skills in the field of preventive competences future teachers have. The article indicates areas of knowledge and skills that were rated the lowest and the highest. Finally, practical tips on educating future preventive teachers are included.
