W artykule autor próbuje odpowiedzieć na pytanie, czy Rada Społeczno-Ekonomiczna jako nowe rozwiązanie instytucjonalne stwarza w Polsce szansę na przezwyciężenie niedostatków dialogu społecznego i obywatelskiego. Jej powołanie wzorowane jest na unijnej instytucji – Europejskim Komitecie Ekonomiczno-Społecznym. W konkluzji autor stwierdza, że rozwiązania unijne nie znajdują odpowiedniego odzwierciedlenia w polskiej rzeczywistości. W związku z tym prognozuje, że Rada Społeczno-Ekonomiczna w niewielkim stopniu zmieni świadomość i kulturę obywatelską polskiego społeczeństwa.

The Socio-Economic Council is a new institution in Poland. The question is whether it is a real chance for overcoming the weaknesses of social and civil dialogue or only another example of imitating EU institutions. The Council follows the pattern of the European Economic and Social Committee. It is concluded that EU solutions are not properly reflected in the Polish reality. The Socio-Economic Council is another symptom of a superficial copying of EU institutions and it will hardly change the civic culture in Poland.

Divine Mercy is for man the reality which is both mysterious and hopeful. Out of the richness of the Bible the author points out only selected data: he analyzes biblical vocabulary, which turns out to be the invitation to the participation in the mystery of the Divine Mercy, he focuses on the sense of the mercy as meeting spiritual and temporal needs. He points out to God who makes man an active protagonist of the Divine Mercy mystery. This mercy is presented as a gold thread, as the heart of the whole God’s activity, of the whole creation and salvation, giving life, coming with rescue and giving fullness of life.

Artykuł prezentuje podany w tytule temat na podstawie orędzi papieża Benedykta XVI na Światowy Dzień Środków Społecznego Przekazu. W pierwszej części ukazano, w jaki sposób orędzia przedstawiają życie ludzkie jako powiązane z wieloma, jak to określa Benedykt XVI, kontekstami. Następnie zaprezentowano relacje między kontekstami – środowiskami życia, którymi są sacrum i komunikacja, jako wzajemne wspomaganie się. Ostatnia część ukazuje rozumienie mediów jako środowiska sprzyjającego życiu duchowemu człowieka.

The presentation of the theme The life, the media and the sacrum in the messages of the pope Benedict XVI is based on the pontifical messages for the World Communications Day. In the first part it is shown how the human life is understood as linked to multiple, as Benedict XVI defined, contexts. Then it is presented the relationship of mutual helping each other between two selected contexts of life which are sacrum and communication. The last part presents, according to the Pope, the media as a favorable environment for the human spiritual life.

Artykuł podejmuje zagadnienie, na które jako na bardzo istotne wskazuje bł. Jan Paweł II w encyklice Laborem exercens. Ten obszerny temat został przedstawiony z uwzględnieniem kilku punktów. Zwrócono uwagę na pracę jako na rzeczywistość wielowymiarową, wieloznaczną. Następnie podjęte zostało zagadnienie relacji między pracą oraz grzechem i jego negatywnymi konsekwencjami. Jest to między innymi związane z błędnym, rozpowszechnionym przekonaniem, że w rozumieniu chrześcijańskim praca stanowi karę za grzech, jest jego skutkiem. Tymczasem przede wszystkim mamy tutaj do czynienia z danym przez Boga aspektem ludzkiego podobieństwa do Niego oraz skutecznym narzędziem zbawienia. Kolejny blok tematyczny dotyczy rozumienia i przeżywania pracy jako udziału w dziele Boga, który stwarza (creatio prima et continua). Następnie zostały przedstawione związki pracy z Chrystusem, z dziełem zbawienia, które On realizuje, w tym przeżywanie pracy jako udziału w Jego krzyżu i pracy związanej z Jego zmartwychwstaniem. Podjęto także wątek eschatologicznego znaczenia pracy, jej powiązań z wieczną pełnią życia jako nadaniem doskonałości aktywności zbawionych (creatio nova).

The article raises the issue indicated as very essential by blessed John Paul II in his encyclical Laborem exercens. This wide topic has been presented taking into consideration the following points. Attention has been paid to work as a multidimensional and ambiguous reality. Next, the problem of the relation between work and sin as well as its negative consequences has been discussed. It is associated, among others, with the false and widespread belief that work constitutes a punishment for sin and its result in the Christian understanding. However, we are dealing here, above all, with the aspect of human likeness to God given by Him and the powerful tool of salvation. Another thematic block regards the understanding and experiencing work as the participation in the act of God, who creates (creatio prima et continua). Then, relations between work and Christ as well as the act of salvation carried out by Him has been presented, including experiencing work as the participation in His cross and in relation to His resurrection. What is more, the topic of eschatological meaning of work, its associations with the eternal fullness of life as granting the excellence to the activity of the saved (creatio nova) has been raised.

Duchowość chrześcijańska przedstawia się tutaj jako cechująca się zrównoważonym i realistycznym podejściem do człowieka jako bytu potrzebującego zarówno ciszy i milczenia, jak też wymiany informacji. Następnie, opierając się w dużej mierze na nauczaniu papieża Benedykta XVI, zwrócono uwagę na potencjał oraz na potrzeby współczesnego społeczeństwa medialnego. W takim kontekście zostało z kolei zaprezentowane znaczenie milczenia i ciszy w przypadku mediów jako pozytywnie ważnego, nawet koniecznego elementu owocnego tworzenia ich oferty oraz korzystania z niej.

The article concerns the Christian experience of the meaning of quiet and silence. Christian spirituality is presented here as characterized by a balanced and realistic approach to man as a being in need of both quiet and silence, as well as the exchange of information. Then, based largely on the teaching of Pope Benedict XVI, the article focuses on the potential and needs of contemporary media society. Lastly, within such a context, the importance of silence and quiet in the case of the media - is presented as a positively important, even essential element of the fruitful creation of the media’s offerings, and subsequently, how it is used.

The article refers to the relations between the social life, the mass media, and the spirituality. This subject is more and more relevant and important. Today the social changes and the technological development seems to be accompanied by an increased interest in spirituality. The article presents the multidimensionality of integration and the associated consequences as well as the instruments which are used to build a community. Then the mystery of creation-salvation is shown as archeglobalization (the Greek word archê means “beginning”, but also “first cause”, “rule”). In this context the media are presented as an instrument of building the community.

Opracowanie dotyczy związków między relacjami społecznymi, mass mediami i duchowością. Tematyka ta przedstawia się jako coraz bardziej aktualna i ważna. Przemianom społecznym i rozwojowi technologicznemu wydaje się towarzyszyć wzrost zainteresowania duchowością. Zwrócono uwagę na wielowymiarowość integracji i związane z tym konsekwencje. Podjęty został temat instrumentów, przez które dokonuje się budowanie wspólnoty. Następnie misterium stworzenia-zbawienia ukazano jako archeglobalizację (gr. archê wskazuje na początek, ale także na zasadę istnienia). W takim kontekście przedstawiono media jako budujące wspólnotę.

Celem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na kwestię całościowego (holistycznego) podejścia do osoby ludzkiej. Z szerokiego spektrum właściwego dla tej problematyki uwzględniono następujące trzy obszary życia: (1) duchowość, (2) komunikację społeczną, (3) troskę o zdrowie. Odwołano się do uznawanych, ze względu na oddziaływanie, za szczególnie istotne dla wskazanej tematyki danych, w tym do Biblii, nauczania Kościoła katolickiego, informacji medialnych jako związanych z podejściem do człowieka informacji powiązanych z szeroko rozumianą troską o zdrowie i z podejściem do osoby ludzkiej. Dane te zostały podzielone i przedstawione z uwzględnieniem obszaru duchowości, komunikacji międzyosobowej i troski o zdrowie. Wskazano na potrzebę coraz pełniejszego uwzględniania holistycznego podejścia do osoby ludzkiej jako warunku dobrej komunikacji i skutecznej troski o zdrowie.

The purpose of this article is to draw attention to the question of a holistic approach to the human person. From the wide range proper to this issue there are presented the following three fundamental areas of human life: 1) spirituality, 2) communication, 3) care relative to health. The article is based on the sources recognized as particularly importantinfluential for the specified themes such: the Bible, the teaching of the Catholic Church, the information about the media’s reports related to human being, the information related to the concern for the health and the approach to the human person. These data were divided and presented with regard to the area of the spirituality, the interpersonal communication and the area related to the concern for health. It is necessary to take ever more fully into account a holistic approach to the human person as the condition of good communication and effective care of health.

The paper describes a problem of collision between the concept of solidarity which is based on concern for the others interests of others with the liberal concept of implementing particular goals. Institutional solutions adopted in Poland, as well as the theories and tools and methods for their description and interpretation, still have imitative character. The result is a hybrid conglomerate of institutional arrangements that are created along the lines of the existing organizational structure of the EU countries. The structure and the way of functioning of those institutions are most commonly analyzed by using borrowed theoretical solutions present in the European or American sociological literature. Social dialogue and civic dialogue do not work so as to bring the expected results which causes permanent institutional and intellectual crisis. The paper postulates to use the new dialogue for the reflection about intellectual mechanisms that create the world better suited to people's expectations.
