The aim of the paper is to examine the reception of Macedonian drama in Slovakia after 1989 and to provide an overview of the published book translations of these dramas in the period under review. Within the topic in question, the author focuses mainly on the poetics of dislocation and on the issue of literary migration and its modification. His ambition is to present a document that will provide an overview of the nature, peculiarities and a specifically determined form of the presence of Macedonian drama in the Slovak cultural environment, while contemplating the phenomenon from an interdisciplinary point of view and simultaneously, from several different angles.

The aim of the study will be offer an systematic review of the presence of South-Slavic literatures in Slovakia (Bosnian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Macedonian, Montenegrin, Serbian and Slovenian) from the prism of “poetics of dislocation”, introducing the issue of literary “migration” and its modification after 1989; and also a book translations from these literatures in our country to the present. Several of the translated South-Slavic writers dealt with historical themes (for example: poets Zoran Ďerić, Bogomil Ďuzel; playwrights Stanislav Stratiev, Dušan Kovačević, Miro Gavran or prose writers Ivan Aralica, Vladimir Bartol, Nedeljko Fabrio, Mirko Kovač, Josip Mlakić and Daša Drndić). Finally, some of them deal more explicitly with questions of the Slavic Christian tradition (for example: Radomir Uljarević) or directly with the issue of the Cyrillo-Methodian mission in history (the novel Chazar Dictionary by Serbian author Milorad Pavić, published in two editions in the Slovak language). The study seeks to become a reliable document about the character, personalities and determined forms of the presence of the literature of South Slavs in Slovakia. The main subject of the paper is also for the first time in a comprehensive form to make available to the Slovak professional public summarising material that will present the examined phenomenon from an interdisciplinary point of view and in parallel from several points of view.

The author presents and analyzes a playwriting in the Slovak-Macedonian cultural relations from the second half of the twentieth century to the present. The main point of the study's scientific ambit was to summarize conscientiously the research conducted in the field of Slovak-Macedonian 'playwriting' relations up to the present, which has received mostly secondary or partial attention until now, most notably by several Slovak, Czech and Macedonian scholars and historians after 1945. In addition to that, the methodological system of the study indicates the role and importance that the received literature and culture plays within the receiving Slovak or Macedonian literary and cultural societies. In that sense, the diachronic continuum of Slovak 'playwriting' translations of Macedonian literature, as well as Macedonian translations of Slovak literature, has been portrayed in this study as a culture-creating phenomenon. Hence, the translations and stage sceneries were assessed in this study also in relation to the social communication, the degree of establishment of the cultural relations, as well as the demands and criteria of the publishing politics in both countries. Within this understanding of the research complex, the translators and stage directors themselves become true moderators between the so called linguistic and cultural communities, who thereby perceive the similarities and differences in the reception of information in both/all socio-cultural areas. The study approaches, among other things, with sincere respect the true value and achievement of the fairly constant interest of the Slovak cultural public on Macedonia and Macedonian literature in the second half of the twentieth century.

This study tries to present the full picture of the presence and acceptance of the work of Blaze Koneski in the Slovak linguistic and literary science. Considering the fact that the complete picture of Koneski‘s character in Slovakia has not been studiously presented so far, the research has gained archival character, since we endeavoured to present the available facts, regarding the elaborated phenomenon as much as possible. As a kind of introduction to the reception of the work of Blaze Koneski‘s creative opus in the Slovak Republic, it should be noted that the Macedonian scholar did not fail to exhibit in his own papers, among other things, his very precise and argumentative views on the history and for the development of the Slovak language. It is particularly important in this domain that the view of Koneski for the Slovak language, namely, is almost always set in correlation or in comparison with the situation and the position of the Macedonian language in the historical context.

The aim of the paper is to present in a complete and complex form the scientific and translation oeuvre of the renowned Slovak Slavist and academician Dr. Ján Jankovič dedicated to Macedonian literature and culture. In the study, we list precisely all bibliographic registers that will reflect and explain the rich stock of translations and texts of Ján Jankovič that have been published in magazines, in special books and in encyclopaedic editions. We will also provide an overview of the news and critical echoes of his „Macedonian“ works that were published in a wider time range both in the Slovak and Macedonian cultural space, but also outside of it.

There has been an increase in the translations of foreign authors of literature for children in Macedonian and in Slovak cultural area in recent years. It is a literary genre, which imposes a number of challenges for the translator, both from a linguistic, as well as from a cultural perspective. In this paper, we focus specifically on the popular nursery rhymes, as presented in the Anglo-Saxon literary tradition. Our linguistic analysis centres on exclamations and other onomatopoeic expressions, as largely used stylistic figures in the particular literary genre. In the paper, we offer a semantic typological classification of the exclamations used as well as translation strategies or their translation equivalents.
