The paper reflects the classification of suicide in the context of the biblical-Christian tradition. It shows that the ultimate condemnation of suicide does not occur in the Bible. It presents the condemnation/denunciation of suicide by Augustine and Thomas Aquinas. Finally it deals with ecclesiastic-Christian praxis towards suicide, where taboo and pre-Christian elements are quoted. But recently there has been an evident tendency to a more differentiated and humane attitude towards the classification of suicide or more precisely those who commit it and their environment.

The paper deals with the problem of assisted reproduction. It reflects the attitude of the teaching authority of the Catholic Church in relationship to this issue and deals also with the ethical questionsof the problem. It clarifies the general character of the teaching authority of the Catholic Church to this moral question with regards to its correct understanding. The paper alerts to the danger of one-sided understanding of this matter and also to the danger of commercialization of this fast developing branch of health service that evades the ethical questions connected with the issue.

The article reflects the discussed problem of today, the diminution of the sense of fault and sin. Here, the attention is paid to the matter of possible causes and connections of this diminution of the moral fault and sin, which are indicated by the author. This, at the same time, contributes to the ambivalence and divarication of the man of today. The article adverts to some perspectives towards the resolution of this thematic range in the theological ethics.

The article briefly deals with the beginning and history of the traditional Christian doctrine of 'a just war'. Thereby it builds up a groundwork for the reflection of contemporary affirmations in the official Catholic Church documents which further develop this doctrine. It discusses the justification of war, particularly with respect to a potential threat of a nuclear conflict and an immediate threat to humanity of worldwide terrorism. It examines possible and justifiable means needed for better understanding and the preservation of peaceful co-existence in Christian ethical thinking.
