Kara śmierci jest niezgodna z duchem ewangelii. Artykuł przedstawia starania Papieża aby wyeliminować karę śmierci na całym świecie. Ukazuje również zmianę w Kościele katolickim spowodowaną nauką Papieża Polaka. Jan Paweł II był pierwszym papieżem który potępił zdecydowanie karę śmierci.

The article describes the opposition of Pope John Paul II in the application of the death penalty. The Pope acknowledges that the penalty for inhumane and contrary to human rights. John Paul II emphasizes the role of dignity and right to life of every human being. Polish Pope says that the evil committed by the of fender can not be remedied by taking away life. The death penalty is incompatible with the spirit of the gospel. The article presents the Pope’s efforts to eliminate the death penalty worldwide. Also shows a change in the Catholic Church caused by the science of the Polish Pope. John Paul II was the first pope who condemned strongly the death penalty.
