Kształcenie tłumaczy w zakresie frazeotranslacji

100%
PL
W praktyce tłumaczeniowej można mówić o różnych procedurach możliwych do stosowania w przekładzie frazeologii, a efektywne kształcenie tłumaczy w zakresie frazeotranslacji oznacza także stosowanie różnych technik i metod frazeodydaktycznych, użytecznych w procesie nabywania biernych i czynnych kompetencji frazeologicznych.

This paper probes into the ways of translating broadly defined phraseological units, the focus being on how to coach prospective interpreters who are to effectively handle such translation. Idiomatic phraseological units, typically very idiosyncratic in a given language, are a source of difficulty for interpreters faced with the necessity to relate them to those of a different language. It is argued that special note should be taken of phraseological structures in the process of translation while phraseological competences, both receptive and productive, should become part and parcel of every interpreter’s working skills. There are a number of procedures applicable to the translation of phraseological units. Coaching interpreters effectively involves the use of various methods and techniques conducive to developing active and passive phraseological competences. Such strategies are described in the present paper.

The author describes the notion of phraseological competences and presents the results of her diagnostic study conducted among students of Applied Linguistics: French and Romance Studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice over three subsequent academic years. The aim of the diagnosis was to investigate the development of phraseological competences at a more advanced level of command of a foreign language. The results served also the purpose of analysing the relationship between comprehension and acquisition of phraseologisms in a foreign language and the level of their idiomatisation or phraseological consolidation.

The author of this paper explores the issue of the comprehension of phraseological units. The problem is of great importance not only to linguistics but also to the theory of language learning-teaching as comprehension and phraseological unit acquisition are important factors in the process of teaching any language. The complex semantic structure of phraseological units has resulted in a number of hypotheses which describe the ways in which phraseological units are interpreted. The paper is a review of these hypotheses from a current perspective.
