This article presents an assessment of the potential for introducing Polish regional products in the European Union’s Common Market. The main advantages of Polish regional product entry to this market are the low costs of labour, big land resources, favourable age structure of population, traditional methods of agricultural production, natural rural landscape, big biodiversity, cultural and historical wealth. The main obstacles are the Polish law system and the lack of experience among Polish producers. The author thinks that Poland may become an acknowledged producer of cheeses, meat and meat preserves, fruits and vegetables, grains and their preserves as well as beverages.

The aim of the paper is an attempt to assess the economic and organisational situation of the cooperative banking groups, associated in Unico. Unico is an European cooperative banking organization uniting some banks from the EU and Switzerland. The analysis is based on data published by Unico for years 2005 and 2006.

Celem opracowania jest próba oceny sytuacji ekonomiczno-organizacyjnej polskiej spółdzielczości bankowej na tle wybranych spółdzielczych grup i systemów bankowych, stowarzyszonych w Europejskim Związku Banków Spółdzielczych (EACB), który jest największą europejską tego typu organizacją. Analizę przeprowadzono w oparciu o dane opublikowane przez EACB za lata 2005-2007.

The aim of the paper is an attempt to assess the economic and organisational situation of the Polish cooperative banking group against the background of the selected cooperative banking groups and systems, associated with the European Association of Co-operative Banks (EACB), which is the largest European organization of the type. The analysis was realized basing on data published by the EACB for years 2005-2007.
