Zastosowanie teorii sieci w badaniach nad portfelem projektów, przede wszystkim wykorzystanie metody analizy sieciowej (social network analysis – SNA), pozwoliło na opisanie cech sieci projektów.

The increased complexity of projects and the high complexity of managing numerous projects make project portfolio management an area in which network issues still offer inspiring research potential. The theory of organisational networks creates wide possibilities in project portfolio management. The article discusses the application of a network approach in the analysis of project portfolios and indicates new directions in research on project portfolios resulting from the adoption of the network perspective. The article presents three main issues: the concept of the organisational network and its reference to project portfolio management, an interpretation of concepts related to project portfolio management and the network approach to project portfolios. The application of network theory to research on project portfolios, in particular the use of the network analysis method (SNA, or Social Network Analysis), makes it possible to formulate and describe the characteristics of project networks.

The paper presents a model system for network management structures, with a particular focus on characterising the subjective aspect, dynamic aspect (relationship network) and how the network is coordinated. It also presents system analysis methodology, network management structures and management policies on different aspects of the functioning of the network structures. The final part of the article presents an example of the use of network analysis as a tool to study the knowledge processes in an organisation (the construction of a learning organisation).

The article presents the network approach and its importance in the development of the concept of the learning organisation. The paper presents the concept and characteristics of a learning organisation and characterises the network approach in management sciences. Particular attention is paid to the importance of knowledge and learning processes, and the use of IT in communication processes in network organisations and network perceptions of the learning organisation.

The need to seek theoretical foundations of organisational networks is becoming an essential issue in enabling the creation, functioning and management of organisational networks to be formulated. The issues involved in organisational networks are becoming an ever more extensive professional field of knowledge. It remains now to seek possible connections with the great number of schools of theory and methodology. Both problems associated with managing organisational networks, and individual occurring processes in webs are closely tied to specific theories. The article explains the foundations of theoretical organisational networks looking at the development of the concept of the organisational network from an interdisciplinary perspective and offering an interpretation of the concept and functioning of organisational networks in the light of economic theory.

The paper presents a methodology for analysing and designing an innovation management system. The reflections are preceded by the interpretation of key terms associated with the innovation management system in an enterprise, a synthetic characteristic of modern models of the innovation process and a presentation of a model of innovation management in an enterprise.

Participation in a network and the ability to effectively use information and knowledge is a source of value. Taking this assumption as its starting point, the article presents the problem of creating value in organisational networks. It discusses the concept of value from the point of view of network efficiency, and the mechanisms and factors of value creation in organisational networks. It also looks at the problem of synergies in organisational networks and the importance of knowledge management processes and learning for value creation networks.
