Działania promocyjne odniosą pożądany skutek, tj. zmienią dotychczasowe zwyczaje zakupu jedynie w przypadku, jeśli nabywca otrzyma obietnicę i zapewnienie uzyskania czegoś ważnego i dla niego wartościowego.

Preferences are defined as evaluations and priorities system, according to which some products are evaluated higher then others. Preferences present relations between attitudes towards products of the some category (e.g. brands). Researches of consumer preferences are one of most important trends in social sciences, especially in economics, psychology and sociology. In the article were described main determinants, which affect consumer preferences. The author divided them in to two groups: internal determinants (psychological factors) and external determinants (demographic and economic factors, social factors, cultural factors, and marketing factors).(original abstract)
Zmodyfikowany model SEM miał wszystkie współczynniki istotne statystycznie, a w świetle rozpatrywanych wskaźników dopasowania uznano go za względnie satysfakcjonujący. Umożliwiło to pozytywne zweryfikowanie postawionych na wstępie hipotez badawczych H1, H2 i H3.
Centra handlowe stanowią obecnie istotny element przestrzeni miejskiej i jednocześnie poważną konkurencję dla pozostałych form handlu detalicznego. Cechują je: szeroka i zróżnicowana oferta produktowo-usługowa, akcje promocyjne i degustacyjne, występowanie wielu różnych placówek w obrębie jednego kompleksu handlowego, a także duże własne parkingi i stacje benzynowe.

Currently, shopping centres form an important element of urban space and at the same time they are a serious competition for other types of retail. It is characterised by a wide offer of products and services, promotional events and tastings, many different outlets located within the shopping complex, as well as their own large parking lots and petrol stations. This paper focuses mainly on the analysis of shopping centres operating in Poland. A shopping centre is defined as “a commercial real estate, which was planned, built and managed as a single entity, consists of shops and common parts, with a minimum leasable area of 5 thousand m2 (GLA), consisting of at least 10 stores” (Mikołajczyk 2009: 138–139). The aim of the paper was to characterise the development of shopping centres in Poland, taking into account the most frequently used criteria of typology, differentiation of the pace of shopping centres development in particular voivodeships and agglomerations, as well as the analysis of transformations taking place in functional spheres of shopping centres. Above all the development of a new product on the real estate market – the community mall was taken into consideration. Also an attempt to identify the reasons for the development of this type of malls was made. The features that should characterise the community mall as a place of relaxation and having fun with family and friends were specified. The inference was based on an analysis of the literature on the subject, own research results and research conducted by Neurohm.
Zakres czasowy badań objął maj i czerwiec 2014 r. W wyniku badań zauważono specjalizację asortymentową powyższych placów, związaną z następującymi czynnikami: 1. położeniem w przestrzeni miejskiej (czynnik centralności/peryferyjności i dostępności komunikacyjnej), 2. rozmiarami przestrzennymi (czynnik rozwoju i różnicowania asortymentu), 3. okresem działalności (czynnik/kontekst społeczno-ekonomiczny momentu rozpoczęcia funkcjonowania placu oraz ugruntowania dominującej struktury asortymentu i jej trwałości w świadomości mieszkańców).

The beginnings of the Nowa Huta District date back to 1949. Initially founded as an independent city, Nowa Huta was incorporated into Krakow in 1951 as one of its districts. Outdoor markets in Nowa Huta played an important role in the life of the local community, creating opportunities for shopping as well as for developing neighbourly relations. Nowa Huta residents appreciated their outdoor markets during the time of the centrally controlled economy because of the availability of some products and goods not available in local shops. The importance of the markets did not decrease after 1989 either, as they changed during the system and socio-economic transformation (which contributed to the transformation of commercial and service functions). They began attracting a new type of entrepreneur who offered a new assortment of goods. The condition of markets depends on their location. However, it seems that they have not suffered from the competition of neighbouring large-sized super and hypermarkets or, to some extent, these two types of trade have learnt to coexist. The study covered three outdoor marketplaces. These are: Mogilski Plac Targowy, Bienczycki Plac Targowy and "Tomex”, all located within the 25 oldest residential settlements of Nowa Huta District (with a population slightly exceeding 50,000 people) or in their direct neighbourhood. The purpose of the research was to identify the assortment of goods offered by the markets, the structure of traders, and their attitude to their business location together with the general conditions of small enterprises operating in outdoor markets. A research survey method was used and applied in direct interviews with entrepreneurs operating in the outdoor markets. The research was carried out in May and June of 2014. It was identified that the markets included in the analysis developed a specialisation in assortment as a result of the following factors: location of the markets in the urban space (central/peripheral location factor and accessibility), 2) the size of the market (development factor and assortment variety factor) and 3) history of operation (the socio-economic factor/ context of the initiation of the market operation, consolidation of the dominant structure of the assortment and its permanence in the awareness of the local community). The markets are characterised by a dominant share of entrepreneurs running family businesses as compared to private business run by one person or in collaboration with unrelated persons. According to respondents, a common and continuous deterioration of market conditions is observed both on their markets and in general, chiefly as a result of the competition of hypermarkets and higher demands from the clients resulting from growing customer awareness. The above requires continued customer acquisition and appreciation of one’s existing, stable customer base.

In the article authors present the diagnosis of consumer preferences in terms of the most popular shopping destinations, categorized according to the forms of trade. Also there is an indication of the factors of the choice of markets as a place of purchases. For that purpose, the research was carried out with the use of a questionnaire interview. The research concerned 22 markets located in Cracow. The survey was conducted in the indicated places of the city – widely attended and characterized by a considerable proximity to the markets. 502 respondents took part in the survey. In the majority they were residents of Cracow. The obtained results allow to presume that the main premise accompanying purchases at the markets are two factors: the health aspect (megatrend of the consumers’ behavior as a growing focus on healthy diet) as well as the economic aspect. Consumers at markets look for fresh, healthy, non-wholesale produced, but also cheap products.
Pierwsza grupa to uwarunkowania demograficzne i społeczne, druga grupa – otoczenie rynkowe.

The article contains the results of the research conducted during the period of 2014 to 2016 in the Nowa Huta district, in Kraków. This area consists of 25 residential areas inhabited by almost 50 thousand people. The research concerned the functioning of commerce and services in Nowa Huta, from both the consumers’ and entrepreneurs’ point of view. During the research an interview among 2,200 consumers and 112 entrepreneurs was conducted. Also an inventory of approximately 500 unit of entrepreneurs was made. The factors which have effect on regression or development of the commerce and services in Nowa Huta were identified. These factors were divided into two groups: the first group was based on the demographical and social conditions, the second group was based on the market surroundings when it comes to both the micro and macro economical point of view. The results of the survey stated an important influence of the local aging society and its financial state, when it concerns preferences for places of purchasing. At the beginning of the transformation a lot of shops of elevated quality and services in Nowa Huta disappeared or changed their type of activities. The additional factor of this regression was the consequence of investments of foreign capital observed through the emergence of hyperand supermarkets, discount stores, pharmacies, banks and selling points for phone services. These types of activities, according to the survey, caused the crisis of local businesses. This tendency appears not to affect the two big marketplaces – Bieńczycki Market Place (Bieńczycki Plac Targowy) and Trade Centre “Tomex” (CH „Tomex”) which are traditionally connected to Nowa Huta. These are places not only meant for purchasing goods but also for social meeting especially among the elder inhabitants.
Open-air markets are traditionally associated with the landscape of Polish towns and cities. In the beginning, they were in the very centre of the city – most often in the market around which the lives of the locals and the newcomers concentrated. With the development of urban areas, open-air markets were moved out of the city centre. They were transformed, though for a long time, also after the Second World War, they were the place of trade primarily in agricultural and craft products. During the People’s Republic of Poland, citizens were given the opportunity to buy goods not available in stores. Open-air market places gained a new meaning at the beginning of the socio-political transformation after 1989. They became the places of flourishing small businesses and were less and less associated with the sale of agricultural products and more and more with diverse assortments such as any groceries, clothing, chemicals and cosmetics. At present, in the period of the global economy, which in urban areas is typically expressed through the diminishing of the local economy related to small businesses in favour of the global economy introducing supermarkets, hypermarkets and chain outlets, the functioning of open-air markets takes place in the conditions of increased competition. It consists in particular in price competition and competition in the form of a large assortment of goods in stores mentioned above. As shown in the article, also entrepreneurs conducting business activity at the open-air markets in Kraków feel this competition. It manifests itself in the lack of a sense of stabilisation of small businesses. A large group of the surveyed entrepreneurs are also unable to sustain themselves only from this activity.

Nowadays more often we can find nearby the word marketing an adjective, which describes the way of each element and task of marketing fining. That's why transactional (classical) marketing means traditional philosophy of marketing. In that case marketing is perceived as a set of activities, which helps to sell manufactured goods. However relational (affiliate) marketing "is seen as profitable building, maintaining and developing relationships with consumers and other partners implementation of the mutual objectives of both parties through the exchange of values and compliance commitments".
