(Title in Polish - 'Slownictwo kresowe z powiesci F. Czarnyszewicza 'Nadberezyncy' - malo znane swiadectwo zaginionej polszczyzny przelomu XIX i XX wieku'). The background of the novel 'Nadberezyncy' by F. Czarnyszewicz are historical events of the years 1910-1920 in Bobruysk district and the life of lesser nobility of that land. On its basis the authoress elaborated a typical local vocabulary of Northern Borderland. The vocabulary was excerpted and arranged in a form of a mini-dictionary. Next to each entry the authoress related the lexemes to the vocabulary of the North-Eastern Borderland within the territory of Lithuania and Western Belarus and to the languages of the surrounding - Belarussian and Russian. The mini-dictionary consists of 710 entries.

A Polish scholar Halina Turska had been conducting research of the regional variation of Polish in Vilnius region for a few years before the World War II broke out. At that time she recorded a significant number of words from which about a thousand and a half words have remained in a part of her monograph until now. A comparison of the vocabulary of H. Turska's works and the set of vocabulary excerpted in the same area half of a century later - in the years of 1987 - 2001 was made in the article. The comparison suggests that the vocabulary of Polish dialects functioning in Vilnius region changes significantly. The greatest changes were in the borrowed vocabulary, especially from Lithuanian, in the rural lexis. A number of names disappeared as a result of collectivisation, liquidation of individual farms and mechanisation of agriculture. Instead, vocabulary reflecting new reality, mainly of Russian origin appeared. Well preserved were only those lithuanisms which are widespread and present not only in Vilnius region but also in the whole ethnic Belorussian territory and in dialects of Podlasie as well. Another significant change is the loss of Lithuanian and Belorussian phonetic and morphological features. Since the inter-war period the vocabulary of Vilnius region has been enriched significantly by words and phrases from general Polish as a result of popularisation of education (eradication of illiteracy) and wide range of mass media, e.g. from Poland. In relation to the lexemes fixed in the analysed Turska's works, in the layer of active vocabulary of the Northern Borderland ca. 14% lexemes were not evidenced.

The paper presents a system analysis and computer aided research of the lexicon of a Russian dialectal packet (in Poland). The vocabulary referring to a chosen discipline (covering over 6000 words) was indexed with respect to various indispensable features like lexical geography, etymology, chronology,phonetics, word-formation, inflection, stability of the surface fore etc. The participation of words in a given cluster of synonyms, their stylistic and other features were also indexed.

W artykule została przedstawiona krótka historia kształtowania się języka polskiego na obszarze dawnego Wielkiego Księstwa Litewskiego, czyli na terenach dzisiejszej Białorusi, Litwy i południowo-wschodniej części Łotwy – Łatgalii (dawne Inflanty Polskie). W związku z tym, iż język polski pozostawał tam w stałym kontakcie z językami białoruskim, litewskim, później także rosyjskim, na przestrzeni wieków ustaliły się w nim liczne cechy zaczerpnięte właśnie z tych kodów. Najstarsze i najliczniejsze są lituanizmy i białorutenizmy. Artykuł zawiera przegląd najbardziej typowych cech białoruskich z zakresu fonetyki, fleksji, słowotwórstwa, składni i leksyki. Zostały one zestawione w postaci tabel, co dało możliwość pokazania ich obecności (lub braku) w sposób chronologiczny i terytorialny: w polszczyźnie wileńskiej zbadanej przez H. Turską przed II wojną światową, w polszczyźnie kowieńskiej opracowanej przez H. Karaś na przełomie XX i XXI wieku oraz na pozostałym obszarze w oparciu o materiał zebrany w Słowniku mówionej polszczyzny północnokresowej. Wymienione zostały zapożyczenia białoruskie regularnie występujące w polszczyźnie północnokresowej, recesywne oraz te, które wyszły z użycia wraz z zanikiem oznaczanych przez nie desygnatów.

This paper briefly presents the formation of the Polish language in the area formerly known as Grand Duchy of Lithuania, today’s Belarus, Lithuania and South-Eastern Latvia – Latgale, the former Polish Livonia. Due to the constant interaction between Polish, Belarusian, Lithuanian and later Russian languages, over the centuries numerous features were derived from the original language codes and adopted by the Polish language code. The oldest and most numerous are Lithuanisms and Belarusianisms. The article presents an overview of the most typical Belarusian features in phonetics, inflection, word-formation, syntax and lexis. These features are presented in a series of tables showing their presence (or lack thereof) in the chronological and territorial cross-section based on the Vilnius Polish language examined by H. Turska before the Second World War, the Kaunas Polish language developed by H. Karaś at the turn of the 20th and 21st century and the Dictionary of the Polish Spoken Language for the features occurring in the remaining territories of the country. Furthermore, the article quotes Belarusian borrowings regularly appearing in Northern Borderlands Polish, recessive borrowings and words that have fallen out of use with the disappearance of designations.

A regional variety of the Polish language of the north-eastern borderland in both oral and written forms has been functioning in Belarus, Lithuania and Latvia (former Polish Livonia) for several centuries. In 2000, The Team for Research on the Polish Language of the North-Eastern Borderland of the Institute of Slavic Studies of PAS came up with an idea of creating A Dictionary of oral Polish language of the north-eastern borderland. First, publications containing patterns of the Polish language, credibly recorded, were collected. There were more and more new studies, and the material was enriched with many new lexemes as well as their new variants or better exemplifications. Therefore, the lexical collection continued and was completed in 2012. At the same time the team researchers carried out excerpting from earlier texts, choosing examples, searching for parallel forms of lexemes, blending the material in dictionary units, i.e. establishing the form of a dictionary entry. In this way the corpus of the dictionary was written, following a formula created by the team. The article presents methodology of creating the Dictionary, its material basis, short description of lexical items included and the content of an entry.

Regionalna odmiana polszczyzny północnokresowej w postaci języka mówionego i pisanego funkcjonowała na obszarze Białorusi, Litwy i Łotwy (dawne Inflanty Polskie) od kilku wieków. W roku 2000 w Zespole Badań Polszczyzny Północnokresowej IS PAN powstał pomysł opracowania Słownika mówionej polszczyzny północnokresowej. Przez pierwsze lata wyszukiwano i gromadzono publikacje zawierające zarejestrowane w sposób wiarygodny wzorce mowy polskiej na interesującym nas terenie. Nowych opracowań stale przybywało, materiał powiększał się o nowe leksemy lub ich nowe postaci czy lepszą egzemplifikację. Dlatego też uzupełnianie zbioru leksykalnego zamknięto datą publikacji wydanych w roku 2012. Równolegle z uzupełnieniami pochodzącymi z nowo pojawiających się prac prowadzono ekscerpcję z tekstów wcześniejszych, dobór przykładów, wyszukiwanie paralelnych postaci leksemów i scalanie materiałów w jednostki słownikowe, czyli ustalanie postaci hasła. W ten sposób powstał korpus Słownika, który opracowywano według ułożonej przez zespół formuły. Artykuł przedstawia metodologię tworzenia Słownika, jego podstawę materiałową, krótką charakterystykę leksyki, którą zawiera oraz zawartość artykułu hasłowego.
