The purpose of this paper was to determine the nature of the relationship between multinationality and performance (M-P relationship) among Polish companies. It is based on a sample of over 300 Polish companies listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange, studied over two years (625 observations were used for statistical processing). Multiple regression and t-statistic analyses were applied to test three hypotheses. The dependent variable was company performance and the independent variable was the degree of company internationalization. A number of control variables were also incorporated in the regression models. The statistically significant results of the multiple regression analyses show that Polish companies experience a negative linear relationship between their degree of internationalization and performance for two variants of the dependent variable, and a non-linear, U-shaped relationship for one dependent variable. The results also show that companies operating on international markets achieve lower market-valuation results than their domestic counterparts, and companies with lower levels of multinationality perform better than those with higher levels of multinationality

A marketing plan is an instrument which enables organization, management of coordination of the activities of an enterprise on the market. In practice, marketing plans differ with regard to their content, specification, constituents and their order, quantity and quality of market information gathered, and, most importantly, quality of strategic bonds. The marketing plans for ethical medicines (RX) are structured similarly to typpical solutions applied for selectable products. It covers the following parts: an analytical part, a strategic part, an operational part, a forecasting part and a control part. The specific features of marketing plans in large pharmaceutical companies operating on the market of ethical medicines include the following issues: − extended time horizon, − multidimensional understanding of customers for ethical medicines, − multi-layer structuring of patients with regard to their attitude towards an RX drug, − variety of customer segments for ethical medicines, − strategic bonds in the marketing plans for RX medicines. The planning procedures and marketing plan structures in pharmaceutical companies, analyzed with reference to the companies with good marketing practice in a range of industries, are characteristic of high-quality standards and can be classified as 'good' plans with regard to their: high level of integration (which ensures internal cohesion of the plans), originality of implemented analyses and strategic proposals, considerable scientific load, and multidimensional measurability of marketing results. This hypothesis requires verification by way of a wider empirical study, covering a larger number of enterprises from different industries.
