Tematem artykułu jest zjawisko suburbanizacji w podkrakowskiej gminie Mogilany. Proces ten obserwowany jest od kilkudziesięciu lat w Polsce. Świadczą o nim przede wszystkim przemiany demograficzne związane z saldem migracyjnym oraz przyrostem naturalnym. Ważną rolę odgrywa także aspekt gospodarczy, a szczególności wzrost liczby przedsiębiorstw. Gmina Mogilany, bezpośrednio przylegająca do granic Krakowa, w badanym okresie (1995-2014), przeszła ogromne przeobrażenia. Zaistniałe zmiany przestrzenne na jej terenie niewątpliwie są skutkiem procesów urbanizacyjnych. Analiza sytuacji demograficznej oraz gospodarczej również jest tego dowodem.

The main subject of the article is a process of suburbanization in the Community of Mogilany that could have been observed for several years in Poland. This mechanism is indicated by demographic changes related to net migration rate as well as rate of natural increase. Economic aspects should be mentioned in this case, as they are also very important in suburbanization, and especially a height of the number of companies. The Community of Mogliany, neigbouring the city of Krakow, during the research process (1995-2014) has radically transformed. The ensued spatial changes in the area are beyond any doubt results of suburbanization mechanism. The analysis of demographic and economic situation is also a representative example of the process.

Celem niniejszego opracowania było wskazanie istoty i znaczenia zrównoważonego rozwoju dla konkurencyjności gmin, jak również diagnoza i ocena wprowadzania elementów w aspekcie ekologiczno – środowiskowym zrównoważonego rozwoju w wybranych gminach. Analizę empiryczną przeprowadzono w pięciu gminach powiatu krakowskiego. Do badań został wykorzystany wywiad oraz kwestionariusz z pięciostopniową skalą Likerta. Badania wykazały, że elementy aspektu środowiskowo – ekologicznego nie są wdrażane w danych gminach w dużym stopniu, a jedynie częściowo, albo w stopniu małym. W związku z powyższym zostały sformułowane zalecenia i rekomendacje dla analizowanych gmin w tym obszarze.

The aim of this study is to identify the nature and importance of sustainable development and the diagnosis and assessment of the introduction of elements of sustainable development in selected municipalities. Sustainable development will be considered in three areas: environment, society and economy. Accordingly, the problem will be considered in a series of two articles. The analysis will be carried out in five communes of the district of Krakow. The study will be used interview and questionnaire with a five- point Likert scale . In summary, the research will be deleted profile of sustainable development in the multifaceted dimension of the surveyed municipalities. Practical implication will provide recommendations for managing the municipality in the implementation of sustainable development in terms of ecological and environmental, economic and social.

Innowacje oraz innowacyjność uważane są za jeden z najważniejszych czynników mających wpływ na rozwój społeczno-gospodarczy. Innowacje oraz ich poziom decydują również o konkurencyjności danej jednostki terytorialnej, bądź też przedsiębiorstwa. W pracy przedstawiono najważniejsze zagadnienia teoretyczne związane z analizowanym tematem oraz sytuację społeczno-gospodarczą Małopolski, co pozwoliło na rzetelne przeprowadzenie badań. Celem pracy jest analiza poziomu innowacyjnego województwa małopolskiego oraz ukazanie, jak na tle innych polskich województw wypada Małopolska. Aby zbadać dysproporcje występujące pomiędzy jednostkami, wykorzystano komponenty z sektora nauki, badań i rozwoju, przedsiębiorstw i instytucji wspierających innowacje oraz przedsiębiorstw przemysłowych.

Innovation and innovativeness are regarded as one of the most crucial factors contributing to socio-economic development. Innovation and the level thereof affect the competitiveness of a given administrative unit or an establishment. The work addresses the most important theoretical issues concerned with the subject in question, as well as the socio-economic standing of Małopolska, which allowed for a thorough conduct of research. The aim of the present thesis is to analyse the innovation level in the Małopolska Province, and thus to show it in comparison with other Polish provinces. The study of the disproportion among the units required some components from the sectors of science, research and development, as well as from establishments and institutions supportive of innovation, and industrial companies.

Analizę empiryczną przeprowadzono w pięciu gminach powiatu krakowskiego. Do badań został wykorzystany wywiad oraz kwestionariusz z pięciostopniową skalą Likerta. Badania wykazały, że elementy aspektu ekonomicznego i społecznego nie są wdrażane w danych gminach w dużym stopniu, a jedynie częściowo, albo w stopniu małym. W związku z powyższym zostały sformułowane zalecenia i rekomendacje dla analizowanych gmin w tym obszarze. Na zakończenie wykreślono profile wdrażania elementów zrównoważonego rozwoju w badanych gminach, aby w sposób graficzny przedstawić przeprowadzoną analizę.

The aim of this study was to identify the nature and significance of social and economic aspects of sustainable development for the competitiveness of municipalities, as well as the diagnosis and assessment of the introduction of elements in these two aspects in selected municipalities. Empirical analysis conducted in five communes of the district of Krakow . The study was used interview and questionnaire with a five- point Likert scale . Studies have shown that the elements of social and economic aspects are not implemented in the municipalities of data to a large extent , and only partially , or in a small degree. In view of the above recommendations have been formulated and analyzed recommendations for municipalities in this area. At the end of the plotted profiles implementing elements of sustainable development in the surveyed municipalities to graphically present the analysis undertaken.
