Electronic versions of historical sources and their printed editions are of unquestionably immense aid to historians. Mass Internet publication of page images from books and manuscripts allow easy access to everyone, but it is full text editions, especially those annotated in XML, that make the real qualitative leap in research possibilities. The Kórnik Library of the Polish Academy of Sciences was the pioneer in producing such editions since the late 1980's, when the voluminous materials on the nobility of Greater Poland collected by Wlodzimierz Dworzaczek were turned to electronic text, now freely available on the Internet (http://teki.bkpan.poznan.pl). The new project discussed in the article was also initiated by Jerzy Wislocki, modified and accepted by Commitee of Scientific Research. The books, editions and documents listed above - some in full XML/TEI conformant text, others as page images - will be available from the Digital Library of Wielkopolska (http://www.wbc.poznan.pl) and from the website of the Kórnik Library (http://www.bkpan.poznan.pl) early in 2006. Another project, also sponsored by Commitee of Scientific Research, comprising sources and materials on the Polish alchemist Michael Sendivogius, will also be published through the same channels.
