The analysis of international ecological policy which will be realized within the framework of the Kyoto Protocol was carried out. The benefits and risks, associated with participation of Ukraine in the UN project, to be introduced on the basis of the 'Guidelines for effective practice on land tenure, changes in land tenure and forestry', prepared by the Intergovernmental Group of Experts of the United Nations on Climate Change, were estimated. Suggestions in relation to the improvement of international and national ecological policy were put forward.
