The phenomenon of sexual harassment has been identified for the first time on legal field in 70s in the USA. An interest in this problem turned up in Europe almost 20 years later (in the mid - 90s). In Poland the legal definition of sexual harassment has been brought by the amendment of labour code from 14 November 2003. However, there is still lack of regulations in Polish legislation, comprehensively and coherently covering the described phenomenon and still harassment seems to be treated by the society as a taboo. A purpose of this article is a presentation of few known in Poland American solutions. In authoress' opinion they can serve as a helpful pattern in working out the model of legal protection of employees against sexual harassment in Poland.
