The article shows the possible influence of urban traffic control system Tristar on the increase of public transport service availability in Gdynia. It describes the methods of adaptive traffic control, its transmission into improved public transport services in Gdynia by optimizing the fluency passage, the way in which the traffic control system allows location of the public transport vehicle across the entire road network in Gdynia, how delays are identified and how information is sent about the need to give priority to the passage. It shows also how these elements contribute to increasing competiveness of public transport in Gdynia, while reducing the cost of arranging travels, which in turn should bring more profits to the organizer of the public transport. There were also proposed additional elements of the system enhancing effective management of collective transport in Gdynia.

W artykule dokonano analizy efektywności funkcjonowania strefy płatnego parkowania w Gdyni w kontekście potrzeby wprowadzenia niezbędnych zmian. Przedstawione zostały szacunkowe wpływy do budżetu gminy po wprowadzeniu możliwości wnoszenia opłat za pomocą karty bankowej. Zostały także zidentyfikowane główne problemy jej funkcjonowania oraz przedstawione rozwiązania, które mogą w znaczący sposób ułatwić użytkownikom wnoszenie opłat, a w efekcie wzrosną dochody osiągane przez gminę. Rozważono także skutki inwestycji i oceniono jej efekty oraz oddziaływanie na strukturę wnoszonych opłat za parkowanie. W podsumowaniu zaproponowano także dodatkowe rozwiązania usprawniające niezbędne zmiany funkcjonalne, a także omówiono ich wpływ na układ drogowy oraz system parkingowy miasta.

Article analyses the efficiency of functioning of the paid parking zone in Gdynia, in the context of the need to make the necessary changes. The estimated revenue for the budget of the municipality after the introduction of the possibility to lodge charges with bank card. Were also identified the main problems its operation and presented solutions that can significantly help users payment of fees and as a result, increase the income derived by the municipality. Also, considered the effects of investment and assessed its effects and impact on the structure of paid parking fees. The summary also proposed additional solutions to improve the necessary functional changes, and discusses their effects on the road and the parking system in the city.
