The main subject of the article is the way Mikhail Osorgin perceives the relation between man and time in his emigration novels. The category of time in Osorgin’s works cannot be considered apart from the human factor. Osorgin has always been interested in man’s role and place in the eternal stream of time.

This article is devoted to analyzing the use of satire and parody in VasilyAksyonov’s novel The Island of Crimea (1979). The author of this article presents a variety of aspects concerning the meaning of comic elements that were used by the writer to show the dissonance between reality and the idealistic as well as subjective perception of a difficult political and social environment.

The main theme of this article is specific perceiving of reality and the historical process in the novels of Mikhail Osorgin. The writer tries to explain the sense of socialistic movement in Russia and it’s consequence – the revolution and the civil war 1917–1919. According to the point of view of Osorgin, the catastrophe, which happened to his country, is a part of the natural evolution of the universe. For the author, human life is more important than political ideas. Osorgin explains that people should build their own happiness instead of sacrifying their lives for abstract goals, which means nothing in the face of the universe and infinity. These ideas are connected with cosmological ideology of Osorgin.

The aim of this article is to analyze the phenomenon of Lada Luzina's popularity among modern Ukrainian readers. On the basis of a series of her novels, called Киевские ведьмы (The witches of Kiev), the author is trying to find answers to the question about the meaning of this Russian-speaking Ukrainian writer’s artistic works for Ukrainian literature and culture. The author also aims to investigate differences and similarities between popular and highbrow literature.
