Wyzwania, jakim musi stawiać czoło współczesny biznes, znajdują odzwierciedlenie w strategiach i politykach firm. Społeczna odpowiedzialność biznesu (CSR) to koncepcja pomagająca znaleźć odpowiedź, w jaki sposób reagować na potrzeby otoczenia zewnętrznego, osiągając jednocześnie własne cele biznesowe. Branża odzieżowa mierząca się obecnie z wieloma problemami natury społecznej i środowiskowej korzysta z dorobku społecznej odpowiedzialności, by tworzyć ramy do funkcjonowania zgodnie z rosnącymi oczekiwaniami rynku.

Modern business faces different challenges which are reflected in enterprises’ strategies and policies. Corporation addresses social and environmental issues as a sign of responsibility for society and environment. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the concept that helps corporations to find an answer on a question how to respond to the needs of external environment while achieving their own business goals. The garment industry has many social and environmental problems and it uses the concept of CSR to create a framework to operate in accordance with the growing expectations of the market. The main aim of the paper is to outline the issue of social responsibility in garment industry. The attention will focus on possibilities to use the concept to create innovative products like e.g. recycled or upcycled in the light of environmental responsibility.
It seems that in the 21st century business needs to adapt faster than ever to the expectations of the external environment. This makes it necessary to look for new solutions that give the opportunity to reconcile the needs and expectations of consumers who are increasingly aware and enterprise which are trying to meet new requirements. As a result there is a change in the perception of existing business models and a move beyond the linear economic model. The new optics of looking at business is both legitimate and necessary. One of such concepts is Circular Economy (CE) which incorporates the existing management concepts into the strategic idea of natural resources protection. What is more, the assumptions of the CE are coherent with the postulates of sustainable development and, in particular, environmental aspects, which constitutes its additional value. The aim of the article is to present the idea of CE in terms of business models.
Wyniki analizy pokazują podejście przedsiębiorstw do kwestii zrównoważonego rozwoju, a w szczególności aspektów środowiskowych w komunikacji z potencjalnymi klientami oraz innymi interesariuszami.

In current business models, the non-economic dimension is increasingly being taken into account. Social and environmental aspects are beginning to be seen as a source of competitive advantage and added value in the organization. This is due to both changing socio-economic conditions and trends that show that these areas will be an important point of debate in the near future. The LSPs industry, similar to other industries, tries to respond to market needs. It makes efforts to integrate non-economic elements into the business model. The aim of the article is to discuss the main environmental aspects relevant for the LSPs industry. The analysis will be supported by the results of own research on a group of companies from the 21 edition of Transport Shipping and Logistics Firm Rank prepared by “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”. The study included an analysis of the information available on the websites. The results of the analysis show the enterprises’ approach to sustainability in the Internet communication with potential customers and other stakeholders.
Entrepreneurs, that want to offer a product that meets the highest quality, social and environmental standards should pay attention to what is happening throughout the whole supply chain, from which the materials needed in the production process come. This is particularly important that manufacturers are responsible for the final product. It seems that the concept of social responsibility facilitates the verification and monitoring processes in the supply chain. The article portrays the issue of socially responsible supply chain management on the example of Fair-Trade certification.
The concept of sustainable development is getting more and more important in the debate of today’s socio-economic relations. Sustainable development is tried to implement into different spheres of business activities to gain the balance between society, economy and ecology. The concept of sustainable supply chain takes into consideration environmental and social aspects of supply chain management. The main aim of the paper is introduction and explanation of the concept of sustainable development in supply chains.
Rynek produktów społecznie odpowiedzialnych i przyjaznych środowisku rósł nawet w okresie ostatniego kryzysu, czego przykładem jest wzrost rynku i znaczenia produktów FairTrade. Dostrzeganie potrzeb klientów, którzy oczekują spełniania określonych kryteriów społecznych i środowiskowych doprowadziło do rozwoju różnych sposobów zarządzania przez organizacje swoimi wpływami społecznymi i środowiskowymi. W artykule zostaną naszkicowane, wynikające z zapisów ISO 26000, kierunki doskonalenia społecznych i środowiskowych aspektów jakości.

There are many dimensions of quality. These most often considered are related to those features that correspond to customer needs. This means that business searches for solutions and parameters of such products or services that will satisfy customers' expectations. This approach led to the development of numerous methods, procedures and management systems which aim at offering products and services of excellent quality. The systematic observation of market developments and expectations of customers shows that more and more often apart from the price and performance of the products and services the social issues and environmental conditions of their manufacturing process and operation begin to play an important role. The market for products of socially responsible and environmentally friendly increased even during the recent crisis, as exemplified by the growth of the market and the importance of FairTrade products. Recognizing the needs of customers who demand the fulfilment of certain social and environmental criteria led to the development of different ways of managing their organizations' social and environmental influences. The solutions such as cleaner production, environmental management systems ISO 14001 and EMAS, SA 8000 standard and the Global Compact initiative can be mentioned here. The ISO 26000 guidelines for social responsibility of the organization, published in 2010, seem to be the most comprehensive guide in this area. The article will, under the provisions of ISO 26000, discuss the directions to improve the social and environmental aspects of quality.
