The purpose of this article is to show the thanatological education as a new form of education which results from declining of social and cultural mechanisms accustoming us to death. As a theoretical model of cultural change we used the concept of accustomed and reversed death by Philippe Ariés. In our research we have expanded the model of reversed death in an innovative way by describing its psycho-social aspects and their indicators. It provided grounds for studying if the model of reversed death is present in the utterances of students as well as for verifying its selected qualities. The obtained results suggest that the women and non-religious people are of vital importance as a target group for the thanatological education allowing them to develop a mature attitude towards death.
