W ramach projektu RURALpro przeprowadzono badania potrzeb kształcenia dorosłych w problematyce rozwoju zrównoważonego w 5 krajach Unii Europejskiej. Wyniki pokazują, że szkolenia powinny być bardzo specjalistyczne, a szkolenia wieloaspektowe być przeznaczone dla pracujących w tej dziedzinie albo dla specjalistów w wąskiej dziedzinie.

Vocational training is a very important aspect of contemporary work. There is actually a necessity of competence development during the whole life time. That is why there is a wide range of possibilities to improve employees’ skills and knowledge. One of them was created by an international team of trainers from five European educational institutions developed within a project RURALpro. In order to get an indication of the demand for training which can be met by such a course, research in adult educational institutions in those five countries was conducted. The main conclusion from this research is that there is a real necessity to train people in sustainable development, but they usually need very specialized programs. A holistic approach can be appropriate for people who have already started working in this area or are specialists in a narrower field.
