In the article the author takes up the cogitation on the status of scientific knowledge. To find the answer to the main question of knowledge, the author explores pedagogical discourse on the youth and undertakes the reconstruction of two types of rationality by Robert Kwaśnica. The results of the researches present exemplifications of particular discourse types as characteristic of two types of rationality and three cognitive profiles categorizing young people in the sphere of scientific discourses.
