Der Aufsatz behandelt die in historischer Zeit von entlehnten Baumbezeichnungen abgeleiteten Toponyme, wobei die ersteren gemeinpolnischen, wie akacja (Akazie), jaśmin (Jasmin), Kasztan (Kastanie), morela (Aprikose), bzw. regionalen Charakter - kadyk, papla, smrek haben können. Die genannten Toponyme gehören zur jüngeren Namenschicht; sie sind meist im 19. und 20. Jh. entstanden, und mit Ausnahme gemeinpolnischer Baumbezeichnungen (akacja, kasztan) sind sie regional begrenzt, also gehen nicht über das jeweilige Dialektgebiet hinaus. Das sind meist Flur-, Feld-, Wald- und Wegnamen. Die meisten von ihnen sind durch einfache kategoriale Transposition der Appellativa in Eigennamen entstanden: akacja Akacja, smreczyna Smreczyna. Die auf Derivationswege entstandenen Namen enthalten vornehmlich Suffixe -(öw)ka, -(owi)ce, -(ow)ica, -ina, -nik. -sk-, -n-, die typisch für Raum- bzw. Sammelnamen sind.

Characterized in this article is a reverse dictionary of contempory official names of localities in Poland that has been prepared for publication. It is based on 55 thousand different names for approximately one hundred thousand inhabited places. There are several times that many entries in the dictionary because all the component elements of compound toponyms are presented. This creates an enormous collection that combines a reverse dictionary with a derivational-semantic lexicon. For that reason, it can be used to analyze the construction and meaning of oikonoyms, and to designate frequency and areas of individual onymic types. The dictionary also makes possible comparison of terrain names and appellatives.
