The paper is related to modernisation of rural environment of Opole’s Silesia in the context of animation activities undertaken by leaders who represent the Local Action Groups. Regarding the results of the field research there was analysed their cooperation with the Foundation of Euro-Country – a partnership for sustainability of rural environment. With their help there was implemented the local strategy of development, building local partnership and integrating rural communities with regard to the idea of multifunctional sustainability.

Artykuł omawia modernizację obszarów wiejskich Śląska Opolskiego w perspektywie działań animacyjnych podejmowanych przez liderów lokalnych skupionych w Lokalnej Grupie Działania. Przeanalizowano – na podstawie badań terenowych – ich współpracę z Fundacją Euro-Country – partnerstwo dla zrównoważonego rozwoju obszarów wiejskich, która wspólnie z nimi wdraża lokalną strategię rozwoju, budując lokalne partnerstwo i integrując społeczności wiejskie wokół idei zrównoważonego i wielofunkcyjnego rozwoju.

The article addresses the issue of transformations in contemporary culture, which deviates from traditional values. globalism and domination of popular culture have consequences in preferences and behavior of residents of local communities. negative aspects of individualism in culture can be balanced by the activities of cultural institutions in the nearest place of residence. The text shows cultural and animation activities in social perception in a small urban-rural commune. it is noteworthy that residents’ social capital is animated and formed by local institutions in cultural and educational work.

Artykuł podejmuje zagadnienie przekształceń we współczesnej kulturze, która odchodzi od tradycyjnych wartości. globalizm i dominacja kultury popularnej mają konsekwencje w preferencjach i zachowaniu mieszkańców społeczności lokalnych. Negatywne aspekty indywidualizmu w kulturze mogą być równoważone poprzez działalność placówek kultury w najbliższym miejscu zamieszkania. W tekście ukazana jest działalność kulturalna i animacyjna w odbiorze społecznym w niedużej gminie miejsko-wiejskiej. na uwagę zasługuje animowanie i formowanie przez lokalne placówki w pracy kulturalno-oświatowej kapitału społecznego mieszkańców.
