In this paper, by way of explaining the term of business process, basic attributes of process, and providing a classification of processes, process approach to management has been presented. The examination of the latest IT tools used by enterprises in order to implement process management indicates that these tools no longer serve a merely supportive function and come to play the role of an integrator of processes, technology, and people into one coherent system.

Zapoznając czytelnika z najnowszymi narzędziami informatycznymi stosowanymi w organizacjach wdrażających zarządzanie procesowe, wskazano nie tylko na ich wspierający i pomocniczy charakter, ale także na nową rolę integratora procesów, technologii i ludzi w jeden spójny system.
