The problem of mortality rate of inhabitants of Łódź according to causes of deaths was discussed in comparison with four big towns of Poland i.e. Warsaw, Poznań, Cracow, and Wroclaw. In the light of this comparison for the period of 196O-1974 the situation in Łód£ is rather unfavourable. One of the main causes of deaths, and namely diseases of circulatory system show the highest dynamics in Łódź. On the other hand, coefficients of deaths caused by neoplasm continue to be higiest despite lower than in other towns growth rate. Mortality due to tuberculosis, which was one of the main causes of deaths in the past, has been reduced to an almost negligible degree. This unfavourable situation of Łódź in ths field of mortality rate as compared with other towns was due not only to deaths caused by neoplasma, and circulatory diseases but also to deaths caused by other factors (e.g. cirrhosis of liver, accidents, pneumonia and others).

Generalization of statistic X² has been performed in the article and then the statistic has been applied to solving problems concerning the multidimensional statistical analysis. Independency test X² has been examined and its application has been illustrated by an empirical example derived from medical research.

The aim of the analysis was to estimate the necessary labour resources for the Polish agriculture till 1990 proceeding from the assumption of changes in ownership structure and land utiliization in the period between 1900 and 1990. In this connection it became neeeaaary to analyze the following probléme in the it became neeeaaary to analyze the following probléme in the article: - perspective changes in area of arable lands, - predicted agrarian structure in target year, - problem of supplying arable lands with professionally active population (density of employment), - variant estimate of indispensable labour resources according to ownership structure (including share of people employed in the agricultural service sector). The area of arable lands in the Polish agriculture in 1990 was estimated at ca. 18.5 million hectare. In one variant it is assumed that 36,4 percent of these lands will be used by the socialized agricultural sector. With such a structure of land use it can be expected that the average employment density in the whole Polish agriculture will amount to 18.8 person per 100 hectare of arable land. This implies a necessity of employing 4.146 thousand persons in the entire agricultural sector with 16 percent of this number employed in the agricultural service sector.

Jednowymiarowy dwuparametrowy rozkład normalny należy do podstawowych rozkładów prawdopodobieństwa w statystyce. W ostatnich latach powstało wiele jego uogólnionych wersji, uwzględniających parametry asymetrii i kurtozy. Tworzą one klasę rozkładów normalnych «-parametrowych, odpowiednio z parametrami: m = 1 położenia (przesunięcia), m = 2 - położenia i zmienności (skali), m = 3 - położenia, zmienności i skośności oraz m = 4 - położenia, zmienności, skośności i spłaszczenia. W pracy podajemy 7 wybranych jednowymiarowych rozkładów prawdopodobieństwa z klasy rozkładów normalnych. Dla nich wymieniono funkcje gęstości oraz przedstawiono dowody unormowania pokazując, iż całka po obszarze określoności tych funkcji jest równa jeden.

They there create the class of normal distributions «-parameter, properly with parameters, m = 1 - positions (shifts), m — 2 — positions and variations (scale), m = 3 - positions, variations and skewness and m = 4 - positions, variations, skewnesses and kurtosis. On the job we give 7 chosen one-dimensional probability distributions from the class of normal distributions. For them one mentioned functions of the thickness and one averred normalizations to show, that the integral after area of the determinates of these functions is equal one.
