The article Development of Economic Culture in terms of regional differentiation of rural areas relates to the issue of individualisation of development policies in the area of creating economic culture. Pointing to the nature and significance of economic culture as a factor of economic development, the author advocates a focus on some of the support instruments in order to influence its shape, taking into account Polish regional differences. The article uses the achievements of economic and sociological research based on the methodology of desk research and the use of its own research achievements.

Wskazując na istotę i znaczenie kultury ekonomicznej jako czynnika rozwoju gospodarczego, autorka opowiada się za położeniem nacisku na niektóre instrumenty wsparcia w celu oddziaływania na jej kształt, z uwzględnieniem zróżnicowania regionalnego Polski. Artykuł wykorzystuje dorobek badań socjologicznych i ekonomicznych w oparciu o metodologię desk research oraz badania własne.

The article raises the question of adoption in the analysis of rural areas and communities of its inhabitants, research perspective of social economy as a paradigm allowing for exploration of issues from the economy, and often studies of neoclassical economics and sociology. The first part of the text is characterized by research linking economic and sociological studies and assumptions of socio-economic research, research pointing to the benefits arising from them, while the second refers to a specific area of own research, which using the accepted paradigm, allow the enrichment of socio-economic analysis of rural areas.

The paper addresses the issue of agricultural produce speculation on the world’s mar¬kets. It indicates the occurrence’s ethical, social and economic consequences. Moreover, it analyses ethical responsibility of financial markets for the rise in food prices in the context of business’ social responsibility, indicating the speculative investment strategies. The ar¬ticle concerns the issue of agricultural produce speculation and suggests the necessity of in¬troducing instruments which would limit the possibilities of unfair practices. It is emphasi¬zed that the undertaken activities, valuable as they may seem, are insufficient and unable to prevent further growth of agricultural produce on the world markets.

The article addresses selected issues of inequality that take place in the modern world. The author points out that the widening of inequalities could adversely affect the chances of social development at a global, regional, and national extent. It focuses on inequalities arising from the measurement obtained by using the new indicators such as the Inequality-adjusted Human Development Index (IHDI) and Gender Inequality Index - GII, as well as inequalities in income, derived based on the ratio Gini. Author indicates the various, possible consequences of growing inequalities.

The article addresses the connection between social development of rural areas and investment in human capital of the young generation. An important role is attributed to economic education, which would allow for more efficient movement of not only individuals but also communities in the modern world. The theses the article points out that despite the steady increase of human capital in rural areas, it still differs significantly from the one that characterises the inhabitants of large cities in particular. Despite the passing years disparities endure, even among the younger generation, which may adversely affect the further possibilities of social development in rural areas. Therefore, greater importance should be assigned to economic education in the process of formal, as well as informal training.

Economy 4.0 will be based on a labour market of people who have both technological Economy 4.0 will be based on a labor market of people who have both technological and professional competences. This means that the role of human capital as a launching technology factor will increase, and people who can function in the cyber-physical world will become the most sought-after employees. In this context, it becomes important to reflect on the expected competences of people who are active on the labor market, especially those who will co-create the new economy. These individuals are the young generation who will enter the labor market, and their decisions will affect social and economic processes. The article is based on the results of empirical research carried out as part of the project “New Generation in the New Economy”. The project aims to develop a methodology for cyclical assessment of the economic preparedness of youth for technological revolutions. The research team have developed tools that successfully simulate future challenges which the young generation will face while choosing their career paths. The results presented in this study are based on the task entitled “Self-organization of work and planning activities”. The task is structured according to the idea that realization of plans is possible only when an individual can put them into practice, facilitating economic and social success. The results of the study have shown that students, while remaining in the current education system, have not acquired the analyzed competences at a sufficient level.

W gospodarce 4.0 wzrośnie rola kapitału ludzkiego jako czynnika uruchamiającego technologie, a osoby umiejące funkcjonować w cyberfizycznym świecie staną się najbardziej poszukiwanymi pracownikami. Od kompetencji przyszłych pracowników zależeć będą procesy społeczne i gospodarcze. W ramach projektu Nowe pokolenie w Nowej Gospodarce przygotowano osiem zadań symulujących wyzwania, wobec których stanie młode pokolenie, dokonując wyboru ścieżki kariery. Prezentowane w opracowaniu wyniki badań empirycznych są oparte na jednym z nich, pt. Samoorganizacja pracy i planowanie działań. Miało ono na celu sprawdzenie, czy badana młodzież nabyła kompetencję samoorganizacja pracy i planowanie działań pozwalającą na sprawną realizację planów, co jest warunkiem osiągania sukcesów ekonomicznych i społecznych. Opracowana przez autorkę metodologia badania inspirowana jest metodą assesment center, którą dostosowano do badania młodego pokolenia w omawianym zakresie. Celem artykułu jest diagnoza kompetencji samoorganizacja pracy i planowanie działań na podstawie wyników badań przeprowadzonych wśród młodzieży szkół średnich oraz wskazanie, na ile badana kompetencja jest im właściwa. Z badań wynika, że uczniowie pozostający w obecnym systemie edukacji nie nabyli analizowanej kompetencji w wystarczającym zakresie.
