The purpose of this paper is to examine, with a text by Tomás Segovia serving as the basis for the analysis, some of the main features, both general and specific to the Spanish Mexican author, of essay writing. Firstly, a brief biographical sketch of Segovia is offered, followed by some comments on the nature of the essay as a literary form or genre. This is followed by a discussion of formal and thematic features of Segovia’s essay, “La palabra inobediente”, in which the combination of philosophical-literary elements, the sense of social responsibility, and the wandering, free character of the writing stands out.

El objetivo de este trabajo es examinar, con base en un texto de Tomás Segovia, algunos rasgos primordiales, tanto generales como específicos en el autor hispano-mexicano, de la escritura ensayística. Primero, se ofrece una breve semblanza biográfica de Segovia; luego, se proporcionan algunos comentarios sobre la naturaleza del ensayo como forma o género literario. A continuación, se comentan rasgos formales y temáticos del ensayo segoviano, “La palabra inobediente”, en el que destaca la combinación de elementos filosófico-literarios, el sentido de responsabilidad social, y el carácter errante, libre, de la escritura.

Segundo Kant, o belo resulta da concordância harmoniosa entre uma forma sensível imaginada para exprimir uma ideia, e um ideia concebida para ser expressa por uma forma. O belo será o que satisfaz o voo livre da imaginação, sem estar em desacordo com as leis da Verstand. O objecto belo não é um sistema artificial de meios, mas antes uma disposição de partes habilmente calculada com a mira num fim distinto de si mesmo. Será, segundo a expressão de Kant, uma finalidade sem fim, isto é, a verdadeira beleza não está ligada a um fim, mas aparece como sendo livre e viva, expandindo-se sem intenções reservadas.

According to Kant, the Beauty is the lust object without interest, and refers the universal complacence by the non concept that the beauty is the universality, without concept, that comes from aesthetic judgment. However, according to St. Thomas from Aquinas, the beautiful is – quod visa placent. The Kantian language accept the beautiful is aesthetic from the subject in the objectivity or for all generation. On this paper there is the discussion between aesthetics judgment with transcendental ethics.

W ujęciu Kanta pojęcie piękna jest uniwersalne. Język Kanta opisuje piękno jako rzecz obiektywną dla wszystkich generacji. Kwestia piękna leży u podstaw jego transcendentalnej etyki.
