This article is a general introduction of liturgical books, with a special focus on the Gradual, which were funded by primate Jan Łaski ca. 1520 for the church in Łask. An exact number of the books is unknown, presumably there were nine of them. Seven books have been preserved until nowadays: two volumes of the Gradual, two volumes of the Antiphonary, two Psalters and one Cantatorium. Actually, the Graduals and one of the Psalters remain in the State Archive in Łódź.

The reorganization of the army in last few years has been caused major changes in the spatial distribution of military units. Some of them have been completely liąuidated, while others have been expanded and modernized. This has contributed to changes in the functional-spatial structure of urban areas associated with the army. This is particularly evident in smaller cities where the army and the community linked to it have a significant impact on the shaping of urban space. Article aims to describe the impact of a military unit on the transformation of functional-spatialstructure of a smali town, which Łask is. Development of this town, for over fifty years connected with the army, is largely associated with localized in the neighborhood the military facilities. In addition to military infrastructure on the formation of the spatial structure of Łask affects the belonging to the Ministry of Defense residential buildings for individual workers and their families. The process also includes changes in land use of former military unit.

Dokonująca się w ostatnich latach reorganizacja armii spowodowała duże zmiany w przestrzennym rozmieszczeniu jednostek wojskowych. Część z nich została całkowicie zlikwidowana, inne zostały rozbudowane i unowocześnione. Przyczyniło się to także do przemian w strukturze funkcjonalno-przestrzennej obszarów miejskich związanych z wojskiem. Szczególnie widoczne jest to w przypadku mniejszych ośrodków miejskich, w których wojsko i społeczność z nim związana mają istotny wpływ na kształtowanie przestrzeni miejskiej. Artykuł ma na celu przedstawienie wpływu jednostki wojskowej na przeobrażenia struktury funkcjonalno- -przestrzennej małego miasta, jakim jest Łask. Rozwój tego ośrodka, od ponad pięćdziesięciu lat związanego z wojskiem, w dużej mierze uwarunkowany był ulokowaniem w jego pobliżu obiektów wojskowych. Oprócz infrastruktury stricte wojskowej na kształtowanie struktury przestrzennej miasta wpływają należące do resortu obrony obiekty mieszkalne, przeznaczone dla pracowników jednostki i ich rodzin. Proces przeobrażeń nie ominął również zagospodarowania terenów powojskowych, powstałych po likwidacji jednej z jednostek.

W artykule przedstawiono biogram dr med. Tadeusza Bala, chirurga wojskowego, absolwenta uniwersytetu w Wiedniu, który w okresie I wojny światowej pracował na froncie wschodnim. W czasie II wojny światowej był lekarzem oddziału Armii Krajowej, a w czasach pokoju dyrektorem szpitala i chirurgiem w małym miasteczku w centralnej Polsce.

The article contains a factual biography of the military surgeon, who graduated from University of Vienna. During the First World War he served in the eastern front, during the Second World War he was the physician at Polish Underground Army. In the periods of peace he worked as Chef Surgeon and head of hospital in small town in the central of Poland.

This article is a general introduction on liturgical books funded by primate Jan Łaski ca. 1520 for the church in Łask. An exact number of the books is unknown, presumably there were nine of them. Seven books have been preserved until nowadays: two volumes of the Gradual, two volumes of the Antiphonary, two Psalters and one Cantatorium. Actually, the Graduals and one of the Psalters remain in the State Archive in Łódź, both volumes of the Antiphonary in the Church Archive in Łask, the second Psalter in the Museum of Musical Instruments in Poznań, and cantatorium in the Library of the St. Mary’s Church in Kalisz. It can be stated with certainty that one volume of the Antiphonary is missing (originally there were three of them). There was likely one more book in the foundation – the author presumes that this was a missal.

Artykuł jest ogólnym spojrzeniem na księgi liturgiczne fundowane przez prymasa Jana Łaskiego ok. 1520 r. dla kościoła w rodzinnym Łasku. Dokładna liczba woluminów nie jest znana. Obecnie wiadomo o siedmiu: dwa tomy graduału (komplet), dwa tomy antyfonarza (trzeci zaginął), dwa psałterze i jednotomowe cantatorium. Graduały i jeden psałterz przechowywane są obecnie w Archiwum Miejskim w Łodzi, obydwa tomy antyfonarza znajdują się w Archiwum Kolegiaty w Łasku, drugi psałterz w Muzeum Instrumentów Muzycznych w Poznaniu. Intonarium znajduje się w Bibliotece Kolegiaty NMP w Kaliszu.

Opracowanie zawiera informacje na temat wartościowania elementów zagospodarowania publicznej przestrzeni mieszkaniowej w opiniach mieszkańców miast. Odpowiada na dwa pytania: Jakie jest zróżnicowanie ocen znaczenia wskazywanych elementów dla jakości życia mieszkańców? Jaka jest faktyczna hierarchia zindywidualizowanych potrzeb mieszkańców sześciu miast w zakresie zagospodarowania ich przestrzeni mieszkaniowej? W opracowaniu wykorzystano wyniki badań ankietowych na temat wartościowania przestrzeni mieszkaniowej, przeprowadzone wśród 1 500 mieszkańców sześciu miast o zróżnicowanej organizacji przestrzeni mieszkaniowej.

The study contains information about evaluation of components in/of development of public housing space – in the opinions of urban residents. It provides answers – How different are assessments of selected elements, essential for quality of inhabitants’ life? What is the actual hierarchy of individualized needs of the residents of six cities in the subject of residential space development of their cities? The results of questionnaire surveys about the valuation of residential space, conducted among 1,500 inhabitants 6 cities with diverse organization living space, were used in this study.
