Artykuł opisuje życie duchowe i działalność naukową Anny Marii van Schurman poprzez pryzmat jej biografii. W jaki sposób uczona godziła ze sobą religię i naukę? Esencję prawdy chrześcijańskiej pragnęła poznać poprzez połączenie myśli naukowej i wiary. Ówcześnie komentowano, że po wstąpieniu do sekty Labadystów, jej osobowość uległa drastycznej przemianie. W Εὐκληρία, uczona rzeczywiście opisuje osobistą „przemianę”. Po tym wydarzeniu uznała swą dotychczasową działalność naukową za nieważną, podkreślając konieczność cnotliwego życia w Chrystusie. Czy jednak ta zmiana rzeczywiście była prawdziwie fundamentalna? Autorka artykułu podkreśla trwałe elementy w życiu i dorobku uczonej.

I investigate Van Schurman’s spiritual and scientific life by studying her biography. What is the balance between both? Her Christian faith tried to understand intellectually the essence of Christian truth. Contemporaries complained that she was quite a different person after her decision to join the Labadist movement. In her Εὐκληρία she does indeed speak of her ‘change’. She renounced the importance of her former scientific activities and stressed the need for a pious life in Christ. But was it really such a radical break? This article will show a lot of continuity both in her life and in her work.

Sprawozdanie dotyczy konferencji, która odbyła się w dniach 17–18 marca 2016 r. w Toruniu i została zorganizowana przez Studencko-Doktoranckie Koło Naukowe „ePRINT” działające przy Instytucie Informacji Naukowej i Bibliologii Uniwersytetu Mikołaja Kopernika w Toruniu. Jej tematyka była poświęcona różnorodnym interakcjom człowieka z uniwersum bibliologicznym. W trakcie pierwszego dnia konferencji miało miejsce 29 wystąpień 31 prelegentów z 8 ośrodków naukowych kraju, reprezentujących kilka dyscyplin naukowych. Wystąpienia miały dwojaki charakter – prezentowały zagadnienie badawcze od strony teoretycznej lub relacjonowały jego praktyczną realizację. Drugiego dnia odbyła się gra edukacyjna „Nieszablonowe akcje biblioteczne”, autorstwa Marcina Karwowskiego. Sprawozdanie szczegółowo relacjonuje przebieg wszystkich elementów konferencji.

The report covers the conference, which was held on 17th–18th of March 2016 in Toruń and was organized by a scientific association “ePrint” which is part of Institute of Information Science and Book Studies of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. It was dedicated to variety of human interactions with bibliological universe. During the first day of the conference there were 29 speeches of 31 speakers from 8 academic centres from all over the country, representing several disciplines. They were twofold – on the one hand it represented theoretical research issue, on the other hand its practical implementation. During the second day of the conference an educational game “Unconventional libraries’ actions” by Marcin Karwowski took place. The report recounts in detail all elements of the conference.

Artykuł stanowi sprawozdanie z dwóch wydarzeń promujących dziesięciotomową monografię autorstwa kolektywu polskich slawistów (we współpracy z badaczami z kilku zagranicznych ośrodków naukowych) – Leksykon idei wędrownych na słowiańskich Bałkanach (XVIII – XXI w.) (2018–2020), jakie zostały zorganizowane za pośrednictwem platform społecznościowych oraz komunikacyjnych w 2021 roku, a więc w warunkach pandemii COVID-19. Autorka najpierw prezentuje sam projekt naukowy, który legł u podstaw publikacji, wskazując, że Leksykon zawiera wiele syntetycznie wyrażonych, oryginalnych, opartych na badaniach źródłowych refleksji na temat spotkania z nowoczesnością na gruncie kultur południowosłowiańskich. Następnie referuje przebieg dyskusji, jakie wynikły w trakcie obu spotkań promocyjnych, po czym odnosi się do kwestii kompetencji nowoczesnego naukowca, adaptując pojęcia czułego narratora Olgi Tokarczuk.

The text is an account of two events that promoted the extensive (ten-volume) monograph by Polish Slavic studies scholars (with contributions from scholars from a number of foreign research centres): Leksykon idei wędrownych na słowiańskich Bałkanach (XVIII – XXI w.) [The Lexicon of Migrating Ideas in the Slavic Balkans (18th-21st centuries)] (2018–2020). These events were held in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, by means of social media and common communication platforms. As the Lexicon consists of many synthetically expressed, original, and source-based insights on the southern Slavic cultures’ struggles with modernity, the author comments on both the research project at the root of this publication and on the course of the discussion which emerged during these meetings. She does so in order to express her view on the capacity of the modern researcher by adapting Olga Tokarczuk’s notion of the tender narrator.
