The article deals with our research on the Ruthenian documents of Alexander Jagiellon and Sigismund the Old, the grand dukes of Lithuania, which cover the whole period of the reign of these rulers (1492–1544) and are kept in Vilnius. In the course of empirical research, we registered 142 such documents; the main data about them are represented in the annex to the article. Meanwhile, in the main part of the article we try to identify the scribes who were responsible for the preparation of the documents, to identify the documents that were written by the scribes who signed them, and to discuss the palaeographic features of all the documents.

traipsnyje tiriami Vilniuje saugomi rusėniški Lietuvos didžiųjų kunigaikščių Aleksandro Jogailaičio ir Žygimanto Senojo dokumentai, apimantys šių valdovų valdymo laikotarpį, 1492–1544 m. Atliekant empirinį tyrimą suregistruoti 142 tokie dokumentai. Pagrindiniai duomenys apie juos pateikiami straipsnio priede. Pagrindinėje straipsnio dalyje bandoma identifikuoti už dokumentų parengimą atsakingus raštininkus; nustatyti dokumentus, kuriuos surašė juos pasirašę raštininkai; aptariamos bendros dokumentų paleografinės ypatybės.

Katarzyna Hochstadt of Telnicz (Moravia) is known as the mistress of Sigismund the Old, mother of his illegitimate children: bishop of Vilnius John of the Lithuanian Dukes, Regina Szafraniec, and Katarzyna Montfort, and wife of Andrzej Kościelecki, castellan of Wojnicz and sub-treasurer of the Crown of Poland. Little is known about her true personality, with the exception of the universally emphasized fact of her being a genuine beauty and the mother and grandmother of beauties. As the legend has it, Katarzyna was an enchantress, a witch, a woman who intruded where she was not supposed to. The few preserved sources suggest of a more subtle picture: a woman of an unknown descent in the higher society that was strange to her was in fact dependent on the grace of men – her lover, her spouse or her son. Katarzyna, however, managed to exercise her influence as she accumulated certain wealth and formed a circle of her clients.

Kotryna Hochstadė iš Telnicų (Moravija) žinoma kaip Žygimanto Senojo meilužė, jo nesantuokinių vaikų – Vilniaus vyskupo Jono iš Lietuvos kunigaikščių, Reginos Šafranie- cienės, Kotrynos Montfortienės – motina ir Voiničiaus kašteliono, Lenkijos karalystės paiždininkio Andriejaus Koščeleckio žmona. Apie jos asmenybę žinoma labai mažai – akcentuojama, kad buvo labai graži ir gražuolių motina bei močiutė. Pasak legendų – vyrų kerėtoja, ragana, moteris, kišusis ten, kur nereikia. Tačiau iš menkai išlikusių šaltinių galima susidaryti subtilesnį vaizdinį apie šią nežinomos kilmės moterį svetimos visuomenės aukštuomenėje iš tiesų nuolat priklausiusią nuo vyrų – meilužio, sutuoktinio, sūnaus – globos. Vis dėlto ji taip pat sugebėjo naudotis savo įtaka – sukaupė nemažai turto, savo klientų ratą.
