Темой статьи является жизнь, деятельности и учение Элимелеха из Лиженска, одного из известнейших представителей религиозно-философс-кого направления – польского хасидизма. Он распространил это движение на территории современной Польши, а подкарпатский городок Лиженск превратил в центр хасидизма. Элимелех создал практическое учение о цади-ках, которое определяет роль цадика в еврейском обществе. В статье также описана послевоенная история охеля Элимелеха.

The subject of the article is the life, activity and teaching of Elimelech from Leżajsk, one of the most eminent representatives of the religious and intellectual current called hasidism. He managed to disseminate that social movement in Poland, and the town Leżajsk in Podkarpacie made the centre of hasidism. Elimelech was also the creator of practical tzaddikism which defines the role of a tzadik in Jewish community. The author of the article describes the story of Elimelech’s ohel after The Second World War.
