Метою статті є аналіз проблеми формування регіональної іден- тичності в сучасній Україні, з особливим врахуванням процесу форму- вання ідентичності національної. Головним завданням статті є визна- чення багатьох дослідницьких категорій, зокрема таких: регіон, регіона- лізація, регіональна та національна ідентичність, а також аналіз процесу регіоналізації в процесі формування української державності. Автор зробив спробу опису сучасного стану регіонального розвитку України, а також наукового прогнозу напрямків її розвитку. У міркуваннях вико- ристані як первинні джерела, так і предметна література

The aim of the article is an analysis of the problem of forming of regional identity in contemporary Ukraine, with the special consideration of the process of forming the national identity. The main task of the article is to set forth many experience categories, such as: region, regionalization, regional and national identity, and also the analysis of the regionalization in the process of forming the Ukrainian state system. The author tried to describe the present regional development of Ukraine status as well as scientific prognosis of her directions of development. In reflections are used primary sources as well as literature of object.
