The article focuses on the issue of spiritual development from the perspective of consciousness. The question of spiritual development exists in close connection with the concept of spirituality. The issue of consciousness can be reduced to three elements that make up a single act of consciousness: an empirical subject, complementing the object, and a non-act self-awareness, i.e. a non-empirical or proper subject.Self-awareness plays a key role in spiritual development in the fi eld of consciousness. The development of self-awareness should strive to reveal non-act self-awareness, but it has a similar structure and is experienced like any other acts of awareness. Spiritual development is the process of the of self-awareness growth and the constitution of the “Self” as an empirical subject that separates itself from a specifi c class of objects that are a component of the fi eld of possible experience for a person. The eff ects of spiritual development can also be described as self-knowledge, which can be a conceptual explanation of either actual experiences or a more stable state of the human subject.

The main aim of the article is a reading of Józef Morelowski’s Laments as a text which expresses the crisis of the subject. The author of the article proposes a an interpretation of this cycle of poems, written after the Third Partition of Poland, in the context of the antique and Old Polish tradition. It gives an opportunity to show and to emphasize diverse ways of self-manifestation in the poetical works. It appears that using literary topoi and stylistic devices rooted in culture is an attempt to overcome the crisis of the subject. Furthermore, taking into consideration the role of tradition and literary convention might help us to reconsider the state of research and to rethink conclusions, which have been reached so far, about the so-called romantic breakthrough.

Głównym celem artykułu jest lektura Trenów Józefa Morelowskiego jako utworu wyrażającego kryzys podmiotu. Autorka rozprawy proponuje, by cykl wierszy, powstałych po upadku Rzeczypospolitej, ująć w kontekście tradycji antycznej i staropolskiej. Ponadto, zwrócenie uwagi na wpływ tradycji i literackiej konwencji pozwala zrewidować stan badań i przemyśleć dotychczas poczynione obserwacje o charakterze tzw. przełomu romantycznego.

The purpose of the article is to reveal the philosophical take on the role of music in one’s life showed in Jaume Cabré’s novel “Confesses”. The author analyzes the value of music as the metaphysical property of the world and as developing cognitive and sensory abilities of man. Music for the main character can turn out to be the necessary complement of his existence, showing him what is beautiful and what belongs in the world of the value.

The article substantiates theoretically the importance of studies of deliberate communicative activities in the context of the information society and postmodern culture. The “I–the Other” communicative relations correspond to the reflexive level of communicative activities if these relations are developed only in an over-situational context and a situation of relationship uncertainty. The article states that communicative activities at the reflection level take place in intra-subjective and para-social relations between “Self” and the “Other”. The reflexive level of communicative activities contributes to transformation of “Self” through the establishment of mutual understanding by the means of such psychological mechanisms as symbolization, internal dialogue, reflexive decentration, actualizing co-existential relations with the “Other”. The article determines peculiarities of the genesis of preschoolers’ intra-subjective and para-social interactions with various partners (a favorite toy, an imaginary partner, an animated character).

W artykule uzasadniono w sposób teoretyczny znaczenie badań celowych działań komunikacyjnych w kontekście społeczeństwa informacyjnego i kultury postmodernistycznej. Ponadto w opracowaniu określono specyfikę genezy interakcji subsubiektywnych i paraspołecznych przedszkolaków z różnymi partnerami (jak np. ulubiona zabawka, wyimaginowany partner, postać animowana).
