The Social Crusade of Love is a Polish model for the renewal of Christian life in the spirit of the Second Vatican Council. On the threshold of the second millennium of Christianity in Poland, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński brought it into practice. His Letter for Lent from 1967 is considered to be the program document of the Social Crusade of Love. Numerous further statements, in particular documents of the Polish Episcopate, constitute an important complement. The overriding objective of the “Social Crusade of Love” is the revival of Christian love in the Polish nation. The necessity to reach for sources is best expressed in the first part of the program document, in which they are included in four points: God-Love, Jesus Christ – the Messenger of the Father’s love, the Church – the proclaimer and defender of love, and the penetration of the Spirit of Love into the human family. This specific theological tractate on the “Social Crusade of Love” must necessarily be complemented by the presence of Mary, who is the Mother of Beautiful Love. The Primate of the Millennium, knowing perfectly how to connect religiousness with national identity in difficult times, incarnated the theology of love in the daily life of the Nation. The title of the action in the field of ordinary pastoral work includes the word “crusade”, which comes from the Latin word crux, because this action is synonymous with the fight for the living God who is Love in the souls of all God’s children.

Der "Soziale Kreuzzug der Liebe" ist das polnische Modell für die Erneuerung des christlichen Lebens im Geiste des Zweiten Vatikanischen Konzils. An der Schwelle zum zweiten Jahrtausend des Christentums in Polen wurde es von Kardinal Stefan Wyszyński umgesetzt. Sein Brief zur Fastenzeit von 1967 gilt als Programmdokument der SKM. Zahlreiche weitere Stellungnahmen, insbesondere die Dokumente des polnischen Episkopats, bilden eine wichtige Ergänzung dazu. Das vorrangige Ziel von SKM ist die Wiederbelebung der christlichen Liebe in der polnischen Nation. Die Notwendigkeit, nach den Quellen zu greifen, kommt am besten im ersten Teil des Programmdokuments zum Ausdruck, in dem sie in vier Punkten zusammengefasst sind: Gott – mit Liebe, Jesus Christus – Gesandter der Liebe des Vaters, die Kirche – Verkünder und Verteidiger der Liebe und das Eindringen des Geistes der Liebe in die Menschheitsfamilie. Diese besondere theologische Abhandlung von SKM muss unbedingt durch die Anwesenheit von Maria, der Mutter der Schönen Liebe, vervollständigt werden. Der Primas des Millenniums, der es genau wusste, wie man in schwierigen Zeiten Religiosität mit nationaler Identität verknüpfte, verkörperte die Theologie der Liebe in das tägliche Leben der Nation. Das Wort „Kreuzzug“ im Titel der Aktionen im Bereich der ordentlichen Seelsorge, abgeleitet vom lateinischen Wort „crux“, ist ein Synonym für den Kampf für den lebendigen Gott, der die Liebe in den Seelen aller Gotteskinder ist.

„Społeczna Krucjata Miłości” jest polskim modelem odnowy życia chrześcijańskiego w duchu Soboru Watykańskiego II. Na progu drugiego tysiąclecia chrześcijaństwa w Polsce wprowadził ją w życie kardynał Stefan Wyszyński. Za dokument programowy SKM uchodzi jego list na Wielki Post z 1967 roku. Liczne dalsze wypowiedzi, w tym zwłaszcza dokumenty episkopatu Polski, stanowią ważne jej dopełnienie. Nadrzędnym celem, jaki przyświeca SKM, jest odrodzenie w narodzie polskim miłości chrześcijańskiej. Konieczność sięgnięcia do źródeł wyraża najlepiej pierwsza część dokumentu programowego, w którym ujęte są one w czterech punktach: Bóg – Miłością, Jezus Chrystus – Wysłannik miłości Ojca, Kościół – głosicielem i obrońcą miłości oraz przenikanie Ducha Miłości do rodziny ludzkiej. Ten swoisty traktat teologiczny SKM musi być koniecznie dopełniony obecnością Maryi, która jest Matką Pięknej Miłości. Prymas Tysiąclecia, wiedząc doskonale, jak powiązać religijność z tożsamością narodową w trudnych czasach, inkarnował teologię miłości w codzienne życie narodu. Występujące w tytule nazwy akcji z zakresu duszpasterstwa zwyczajnego słowo „krucjata”, pochodzące od łacińskiego słowa crux, jest synonimem walki o Boga żywego, który jest Miłością w duszach wszystkich dzieci Bożych.
