It has been established that several factors, such as legal framework of state documents in vigor in a concrete time, can have an impact on the work of managers of institution of general education. In a modern understanding, word «factor» means a cause, the impetus of any process, phenomenon, thus determining its character or single features. Under current conditions of social incertitude and economic crisis, in order to manage an institution of general education is worthwhile to turn to the past experience, to study, analyze and rethink it. The experience of Anton Semenovitch Makarenko, manager of the showpiece institution, Colony of labor named after M. Gorki is quintessential unique. On the basis ofthe normative-legal documents of Ukrainian educational management organs of the first part of the XX century the legal foundationsof A. S. Makarenko’s administrative activity in the period of managingthe Labor Colony named after M. Gorky are revealed. The activity of A. S. Makarenko during his administration of the colony named after M. Gorki, the history of the institute and the fortune of its graduates became a special topic in the researches of national and foreign scholars such as E. Balabanovich, A. Bojko, I. Zjazun, I. Kozlov, I. Krivonos, V. Kumarin, F. Naumenko, M. Nezhinskij, N. Tarasevich, A. Tkachenko, A. Frolov, M. Yarmachenko and others. Relevance of the study are: M. Vinogradova, L. Hordin, O. Ishchenko, N. Tarasevich, A. Tkachenko, A. Frolov, L. Tsybulko and others. Generally, the analysis of state organ regulatory documents the activity of the Education boards in Ukraine in the first half of the XXth century (the beginning 1920 – the end 1920), when were defined the trends and the way for the implementation of a national educational reform, offers the possibility to find out which normative frameworks used A. S. Makarenko during this management activity: 1) diversification of education, creating a system of social education, while Ukraine became a socialistic workers republic; 2) development of appropriate measures for the implementation of social education at the institutional level, with the passage from more simple to more complex forms of children collective; 3) promotion of a «new» generation to use their intellectual and physical potential for the good of society during the process of recovering of the domestic market and the conquest of the foreign market; 4) creation of a «new man», able to build up the socialist society using his energies together with the State and working class; 5) sociability and public support in education of new generations; 6) development of a child movement and creation of a system of autonomous bodies at the premises of institutions of social education.

The article is devoted to the main directions of upbringing in the professional activity of A. S. Makarenko, which falls on the times of socio-economic crisis on the territory of Ukrainian state (the 20-ies of the XX century). The figure of A. Makarenko and his professional activity were of interest to the educators and historians of pedagogy of early 40-ies of the XX century. First of all we note that the directions of educational work of A. S. Makarenko were determined in accordance with the understanding of the purpose of education. It is found out that the essence of the educational process was determined by A. S. Makarenko in the framework of the formulated objectives of education. The main directions of upbringing of a personality in the professional activity of A. S. Makarenko are: moral education, labor education, physical education, aesthetic education and sexual education. The tasks of moral education are outlined. They are the following: the pupils’ mastery of the norms and rules of moral behavior, the formation of legal awareness, acceptance of social norms and rules. Labour education involved the development of knowledge and skills of work and efficient management, educational training, readiness to the conscious choice of profession. Physical education was aimed at the harmonious development of the body and health promoting, improving efficiency, leveling of the physical and moral «laxity» of the child’s soul. Aesthetic education shaped the sense of beauty, inner and outer beauty of a person, developed the aesthetics of the team. Sex-role education brought about a change in the psycho-social roles of women and men in the society, personal development on the principles of public morality, sexual training of the pupil as a future family man. It is proved that educational work according to the directions outlined by the outstanding educator contributed to the formation of happy, organized childhood. The study does not cover all aspects of upbringing of a personality in the professional activity of A. S. Makarenko and highlights the need for further development in such promising areas as civic education of the individual, the development of his readiness for professional mobility.

In the article there has been made an attempt based on the analysis, compilation and systematization of the materials related to the creativity of A. S. Makarenko to determine the prospects of using his expertise for effective connection of high-resulted schooling with industrial work of seniors in modern conditions. The study has showed that A. S. Makarenko considered successful learing at school as a principally important issue even in the conditions of high employment of the pupils of Dzerzhinsky commune. The result was the high levels of schooling. The highlights, on which the head of the commune focused most of all in this matter were: the school staff of the commune presented by highly skilled, creative, initiative teachers; increased attention to the prevention of school absenteeism, regardless of the degree of employment in manufacturing; mandatory provision of opportunities to compensate for failure at school due to the exemption from work responsibilities; subtle account of the individual characteristics, talents and inclinations of each child in determining his employment sector in the labor collective commune system. There has been formulated the idea that the provision of a complex connection of certain important factors of such experience will give an ability to progressively expand the connection process of employment of seniors in various types of industrial activity with effective learning in modern conditions. The main factors have been named: the maximum cooperation in this matter of the leaders of industrial facilities with school and family; optimizing the time mode of employment at school, in extracurricular activity, homework and industry – preventing overstrain students; the maximum possible preservation of the staff both in the educational process and in the terms of extracurricular work.
