The purpose of this article was to present the position of the Polish agriculture on the background of the European Union according to the production and family farm income in the years 2005-2013. Firstly, the situation of Polish agriculture was described, then the importance of the agricultural sector to the economies of EU countries was showed. At the end, on the basis of rankings, the position of the Polish agricultural farms in the EU according to the value of their total production, family farm income and family farm income minus the subsidies were set out. It turned out that in 2013 Poland takes up 23-rd, 23-rd and 15th place according to these data.
