This study is devoted to the Belgian director and choreographer Alain Platel’s stage creations, Nicht Schlafen, premiered in 2016. The text looks at the creative process, analysing the orchestral sources, the diversity of sound materials and the set designed by Belgian artist Berlinde de Bruyckere. Finally, the text examines how stage creation reveals itself as the crucible of a chaos of bodies, shedding light on contemporary tragedies.
