The authoress presents an overview of publications on the Katyn Massacre in the London-based journals 'Dziennik Polski' (The Polish Daily) and 'Dziennik Polski i Dziennik Żołnierza' (The Polish Daily and Soldiers Daily) in the years 1943-1953. These publications were also reprinted in the press of the free world. She discusses the circumstances of the discovery of the graves of Polish officers in Katyn by the Germans in the spring of 1943, the helplessness of Polish civil and military authorities in their attempts to investigate the massacre and punish the guilty, the conspiracy of silence among the Allied countries, the purposeful concealment by Roosevelt and Churchill of the truth about Russia's involvement, the establishment and operation of the American Committee for the Investigation of the Katyn Massacre, and the continuation of Roosevelt's shameful policies by the Eisenhower administration.
