The subject of this paper is a mixed variant of German which arose in large urban agglomerations with participation of mixed youth, indigenous German youth and youth of German lineage. The text outlines historical phenomena, and also linguistic theories which underlie and account for the diversity of mixed code with regard to the standard language.

Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird dem sprachlichen Mischcode, dem Ethnolekt Rechnung getragen. Nicht nur die sprachlichen Abweichungen des Ethnolekts dem Standarddeutschen gegenüber, sondern auch dessen Vorläufer, historische Bedingungen samt ihren linguistischen Manifestationen werden hier aufgegriffen und näher beleuchtet.

Niniejsza praca poświęcona jest językowo-kulturowym aspektom scenicznej pracy kabareciarza niemiecko-tureckiego pochodzenia, Bülenta Ceylana. Sczególna uwaga skierowana została na dialekt obszaru Mannheim (Kurpfälzisch), którym Ceylan posługuje się na scenie, przez co automatycznie rozpowszechnia go i wspiera. Prócz tego praca zwraca uwagę na kulturowe aspekty repertuaru Ceylana, sytuację Niemco-Turków, którzy zamieszkują (dzisiejsze) Niemcy.

This article is devoted to linguistic and cultural aspects of the work of a German-Turkish comedian, Bulent Ceylan. A particular emphasis is put on the dialect of the Mannheim region (Kurpfälzisch), which Ceylan exploits on stage, thus popularising and supporting it. Furthermore, the text draws attention to cultural aspects of Ceylan‘s repertoire and the situation of German Turks residing in (today‘s) Germany.
